  • A real sence

  • nothing brings back my childhood better than this one scene!

  • im still trying to figure out in my mind, phisicaly how there can be two suns

  • thing you can see in this scene is that luke has no idea he's the son of anankin skywalker

the best pilot in the the galaxy

the winner of the mos espa pod race

    the sepratists greatest enermy

he's the son of a hero!!

  • he's probably thinking: someday i'll gett of this sand ball and fight the empire!

  • if it weren't for this scene, empire strikes back would be my favourite

  • UBUNTO likes this video. Except UBUNTU does not have blue milk or bantas. So this is not a documentary. So please send my people jenkem. God bless you. UBUNTU

  • @tomzizous

Correction: the greatest scene of ANY movie.

  • that, right there, at :28-:29 is where I fell in love with Mark!

  • I hate how they tried to replicate this scene at the end of Ep. 3. There is no emotion tied to it and it makes it seem unnecessary. This however is amazing and I can't wait to see it on the big screen when it gets re-released.

  • i will download this onto my ipod, and when im down on my luck i will listen to it and gaze onto the distant sunset.

  • One of the greatest melodies ever written...

  • the one person who disliked this, even if it was a joke I will hunt you down and kill you, you obviously have not heart and are therefore undeserving of life.

  • @MegaLewDawg Calm down and enjoy the video.

  • @roguegirl29 sorry got seduced by the darkside

  • JOHN WILLIAMS AND THE LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, EVERYBODY!!!

  • @Greener221 Now do the theme to the people's court!

  • THE GREATEST INSTRUMENTAL MOMENT OF ALL TIME

  • The best scene in all of the movies. I was not the least bit surprised when it was repeated to end the whole series.

  • I hope one day if we ever colonize Mars, we will take ideas from Tatooine (the moisture vapourators) etc

  • this scene defines the movie in so many ways. he's stuck on the farm imagining his life and place in destiny into the sunset and in some ways, we know exactly what is out there.

  • I can't wait till 2015 when this is released in theaters again! I will see it like 20+ times! Just for this scene!

  • @skysamfreeman Wait, What?

  • @meginmd Lucas is re-releasing the SW movies every year starting in 2012 with Episode 1. In 2015, Episode 4 will be re-released in theaters.

  • @skysamfreeman Oh fuck no.

  • Okay, this 1 scene is better than the entire prequel trilogy combined.

  • NOW DO THE THEME TO THE PEOPLE'S COURT!!!!

  • @tomzizous Agreed.

  • Tatooine: Where it all began. Amazing.

  • why can't they make more star wars films the story lives on!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow. Lucas, Williams, and Hammel just created a whole universe in about 40 seconds. a truly amazing scene

  • so fucking epic

  • You can see Padme and Anakin among the sky.

  • Parara raaam pam param pam papam (8)

  • Beloved scene -and music! Along with the final scene of binary sunset in the Revenge of the Sith.

  • One huy said to me that Star Wars suck ass. I told him to visit a doctor.

  • @juresaiyan I know a few people who would have sent him there for saying that.

  • iTunes needs a version of this song where everything else except this bit is removed as a downloadable song...

  • best

  • 0:22-0:37

    Gets me every time. T_T

  • one of my favorite movie scenes of all time

  • It's because of scenes like this that Star Wars is easily the greatest set of movies ever made.

  • One of the reasons I don't like the clone wars is the music, oy! Why didn't they get John Williams to do the score! He is the master!

  • he did do the score

  • lol... I seriously doubt that at this point in his career, you could drag him within a mile of the Clone Wars animated series...

  • tbh its not the actors or the props or the storyline that makes star wars

what makes star wars is its truely iconic music LONG LIVE JOHN WILLIAMS

  • not really... imagine star wars as a horrible movie with bad actors and all... it wouldnt be the same, the same goes for the storyline (although of course the music is a major influence throughout the movies but it doesent set the totality of the movie)

  • god damn this sounds so nice

  • John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra everybody!

  • you got that from blue harvest

  • so beautiful

  • love the song

  • AWESom....e

  • very beautiful

  • Awsome setting,music sets the scene,looking in the distance wondering wot the future will bring,pondering on the present??....cinama magic:}

  • I loved how they ended episode 3 with this style scene.

  • amen

  • One of the best scenes ever. Period.

  • The wipes were great. When this movie first came out my mother took me to see it 9 times in the theatre.

I was electrified each time. On reflection, childhood is amazing.

  • @0pine0tron6000 Same with my father, it was a father-son moment, you know? Those kind of movies that you can share with your dad. At those times, I was just fascinated by the movies, that I really didn't bother with my dad and never understood why he would cry when I was in 'awe' watching it. Now that my parents are seperated and I hardly ever see him, I'm the one that has this moment close to my heart and in my memories.

  • @0pine0tron6000 childhood is the best part of your life. i know it now.

  • Reminds me of the end of ch. 1 in the Great Gatsby, where Gatsby's gazing out across the bay at the green light by Daisy's house. Gatsby's youthful hopes and dreams lay just out of reach upon the horizon, a lot like Luke's in this scene.

  • the music + scene made me cry

  • ive been there in star wars galaxies, sat there and watched the sunset with some friends

  • me to

  • I love this scene, I love the music, I love Luke, I love the suns, ehm... any other thing I love in this?

  • One of the most famous and classic scenes in cinematic history. I truly believe EVERYONE needs to see Star Wars at least ONCE in their lifetime!

  • i'm going to learn to play this

  • This is the Ultimate moment in movies.

  • amazing and beautiful

  • i swear when i was little i can remember this song in my mind while i slept such a short scene but sooooo powerfull

  • I GOT GOOSEBUMPS

  • LONG LIVE STAR WARS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Look into the eerie horizion of Tatooine at 00:13

  • I FUCKING LOVE STAR WARS

  • I think that this is my favorite "section" of music of all time if you will...

There is just so much emotion in it. There's sadness yet there's hope...amazing...

  • I've never met a film that stirs me in the same way, sci fi or no. That was Star Wars charm, it was just... magic. None of the prequels had the charm of the originals, thoguth RotS made up for it with it's dark grandeur

  • Does anyone know how the effect of the binary sunset was done? Is it a natural optical illusion in the desert?

  • If I remember correctly, it was a backdrop or some sort of drawing for this scene. During the daytime, it was made by merely two spotlights on wires. Don't quote me on this though.

  • Nope. Mikea, you guessed correctly. In the area where this scene was filmed, there is a natural phenominon that makes it appear as though there are two suns setting.

  • Interesting. Where'd you hear that? Now that I think about it it makes sense but I am curious as to your information source.

  • Interesting information.

  • It occurs naturally at sunset in Tunisia.

  • Natural occurence during sunset in Tunisia

  • This portion of the song, especially from 00:23 to the end, always makes me sad and happy at the same time.

  • anybody know where i can download this song? I can't find it anywhere but here.

  • try limewire, then search for Binary sunset

  • thanx man.

  • Limewire is too dangerous. It is a net for viruses.

  • its worth it to get this song:P

  • At the risk of your computer? I don't think so.

  • I love it!yeah

  • This is THE scene that inspired me to do cinematography or compose music for movies. Its just so moving and powerful.

  • Undoubtedly one of the most moving scenes in the entire saga.

  • God..It's absolutely beautiful and deep emotional

    A shame it's so short:(

  • You are so right! It truly is an emotional section. I hear that piece, and I picture, either a love scene, or a Christian entering forever into God's presence. :)

  • Use the Force Luke....

  • this is a wonderful scene. And the soundtrack is the best of all movies! I think John Williams is an extraordinary composer!

  • I agree. No doubt the greatest soundtrack composer.

  • I LOVE THIS SCENE!!!! this is my favorite scene in all of star wars

  • 37 seconds shows how much better the original trilogy was. no scene in the prequels even approaches the beauty and brilliance of this one

  • totally agree

  • Hang a sec, why are there two versions of the same tune of youtube. Both are in different keys. Is one from the special addition or something?

  • Sometimes when videos get put up onto youtube or even simply recorded onto your computer, the sound gets a little faster, sort of like when some songs are on the radio. I'm not sure why this is... If the song is longer than this one, and totally different, it's probably from some sort of cd someone put w/the video

  • There aren't words...

  • I know, but that's what we think Luke is thinking.

  • No, I know. I'm saying I don't have the words to describe how this scene makes me feel.

  • Oh, sorry. My fault.

  • I'll love this scene! The music is just freaking great.

"Someday, I'll get off this rock and fight the Empire"

  • This is one of my favorite scenes in the entire series. Another scene I really love is in episode 5 when Luke goes into the cave on Dagoba and fights what he thinks is Darth Vader but is really himself. I can't find that clip anywhere on YouTube!

  • This scene is so moving...a shame George spoiled it when he made the prequels....

  • agreed, 100%. what really pisses me off is that he changed parts of the originals in the 2004 SE so that there would be better continuity with the prequels.

  • I get goosebumps every time I listen to this piece of music. One of the most beautiful things I've ever heard!

  • George Lucas and John Williams are geniuses for this part. Great emotion shown by Mark Hamill. This is a classic scene for sure.

  • this scene makes me feel emotion beyond my capacity its overwhelming

  • This song really speaks my life at times.

  • one of the best cinema shots ever made, the composer John Williams is amazing.

  • Luke is up there like "Someday, I'll fly off this rock towards victory."

  • mark hamill is so great! i love this scene and music <333333

  • God I love this so much. The music, the setting its just so perfect.

  • too bad we didnt get anything of this quality in the prequels. Lucas should have gone back to his original formula.

  • The closest scene in the prequels would have to be the end of the Anakin and Obi-Wan battle. Great acting done by Ewan McGregor.

  • Or like the guy before you said...the end of Episode III...since George Lucas kinda said the suns were shot the same way intentionally.

  • Oh yah, good call.

  • Dude, this scene is deep. I get goosebumps when I here this music.

  • I love this scene and song! <3 It is wonderful!

  • Wow, that's probably my favorite scene from any movie. The music is just so perfect in describing the emotions that the character is going through at the moment.

  • I love this scene, thanks for uploading this! I'd searched for this a lot.
