I hate how they tried to replicate this scene at the end of Ep. 3. There is no emotion tied to it and it makes it seem unnecessary. This however is amazing and I can't wait to see it on the big screen when it gets re-released.
the one person who disliked this, even if it was a joke I will hunt you down and kill you, you obviously have not heart and are therefore undeserving of life.
this scene defines the movie in so many ways. he's stuck on the farm imagining his life and place in destiny into the sunset and in some ways, we know exactly what is out there.
not really... imagine star wars as a horrible movie with bad actors and all... it wouldnt be the same, the same goes for the storyline (although of course the music is a major influence throughout the movies but it doesent set the totality of the movie)
@0pine0tron6000 Same with my father, it was a father-son moment, you know? Those kind of movies that you can share with your dad. At those times, I was just fascinated by the movies, that I really didn't bother with my dad and never understood why he would cry when I was in 'awe' watching it. Now that my parents are seperated and I hardly ever see him, I'm the one that has this moment close to my heart and in my memories.
Reminds me of the end of ch. 1 in the Great Gatsby, where Gatsby's gazing out across the bay at the green light by Daisy's house. Gatsby's youthful hopes and dreams lay just out of reach upon the horizon, a lot like Luke's in this scene.
I've never met a film that stirs me in the same way, sci fi or no. That was Star Wars charm, it was just... magic. None of the prequels had the charm of the originals, thoguth RotS made up for it with it's dark grandeur
If I remember correctly, it was a backdrop or some sort of drawing for this scene. During the daytime, it was made by merely two spotlights on wires. Don't quote me on this though.
Nope. Mikea, you guessed correctly. In the area where this scene was filmed, there is a natural phenominon that makes it appear as though there are two suns setting.
You are so right! It truly is an emotional section. I hear that piece, and I picture, either a love scene, or a Christian entering forever into God's presence. :)
Sometimes when videos get put up onto youtube or even simply recorded onto your computer, the sound gets a little faster, sort of like when some songs are on the radio. I'm not sure why this is... If the song is longer than this one, and totally different, it's probably from some sort of cd someone put w/the video
This is one of my favorite scenes in the entire series. Another scene I really love is in episode 5 when Luke goes into the cave on Dagoba and fights what he thinks is Darth Vader but is really himself. I can't find that clip anywhere on YouTube!
agreed, 100%. what really pisses me off is that he changed parts of the originals in the 2004 SE so that there would be better continuity with the prequels.
Wow, that's probably my favorite scene from any movie. The music is just so perfect in describing the emotions that the character is going through at the moment.
