The point was, to vote for Ron Paul in the general election, he has to win the GOP primary. In many states, to vote in the GOP primary, you have to be registered as a Repub. Thus, many people are going to have to register as R's to effectively support Ron Paul's campaign -- with their votes. (Those of us already registered as R's are good to go.)
