  • If you want it to really sound bluesy, you need to bend notes. Start by bending the draw on the 3rd and 4th holes occasionally.

  • I like it*****

I made some BLUESCARTOONS(playlist) with some harmonica on it but I did the animation & music, too (I played all instruments).

So far I did three 1-minute-clips - tributes to JIMMY REED, Sonny Boy II & JL HOOKER. I did not want to imitate or cover or emulate to to give a personal tribute,

    bye

  • awesome man... how long have you been practising...

  • im barely gonna start playing harmonica do u guys think a "honher blues band 10 hole, key of c" would be a good start?

  • @shonenjump86

I've got the marine band and it seems to be working for me

  • those are cheap and sound alright but the reeds give out quick. get a marine band.

  • @shonenjump8697 yeah

  • Blues with a feelin!!

Rock on man n keep practicing!! ~ 5 Stars!!

  • it'a perfect for me as a beginner, but ur much more talented :(((

But I swear that this movie shows us how the blues sounds at its early ages ;)

  • low hangin fruit baby ,,,,

  • Nice one great sound!! How long you been playing ???? keep it going post more ............

  • what are the notes for this song? could you please post it? :) would help me alot...

it starts with, -3 +4-4 right?

  • Dont use notes, they will just mess with ur improv, try figuring out urself how to play it without notes, then u'll earn talent ;)

  • I know this was a while ago, but what I really like is that you aren't trying to every riff and every fancy thing that you knew at the time. But rather stay true to the song. Well done. I haven't looked but I like to see if you have posted something recently, would be interesting to see your development.

  • I just started to play. How long did it take you to get so good???

  • You've got the groove. Just learn some bends and blues licks.

  • cool, check my channel man,

    THanks

  • rock on rock on man , that is smoooooooth

  • Tell you what, I'll make another video soon, that way you guys can compare a 1 year difference

  • for a beginner, you sounded great!!! That was a year ago, how do you sound now?

  • it was a little on my own, a little instruction from a teacher, and a lot from online videos like Adam Gussow's...it's hard but i've started learning to play mainly by ear...it helps in the long run

  • well done!

    I'm jalous.

  • You're headed the right direction. You should check out Adam Gussow here on youtube. I need to practice my single notes. Your single notes are comming along great. Keep up the good work man!

  • awesome, just awesome mate, i just bought a C harmanica today and i just started 12 bar blues, and it sounds so nice. Keep up the good work ! :)

  • what note is this harmonica??

  • It's in c, playing cross harp in the key of G. Pay attention eh. :)

  • I'm just a beginner too, but i thought that your job here is awesome!

  • check out adam gussow on you tube & his web site modern blues harmonica

  • good job. but try to move your hands, not your head.

  • yes nice job i like it i wish i could do it like ya lool !

  • Well i reckon your ok, your enjoying yourself and will only get better, i watch this clip just to get into a rythm and work up to where your at...ONYA!!!!!!..

  • Good job with the the changes and playing in key. Kept it simple. Work on the bends 1-3 hole. Work on them a lot, so you can hit the holes with the notes bent as well. Good stuff.

  • not 3 bad

  • So that was a C harp in the key of G, and you helped me learn as I recognised that.

Blues and Soul (Northern soul) is so good.

    Keep the faith Walter

  • bro ur better than me i cant even do old mcdonald had a farm

  • Sounds pretty good buddy. Where did you find that background track?

  • i just searched jam tracks on google and found some :)

  • check out adam gussow for mr hilbert backing tracks for harp

  • Hey thanks for the comment! I am playing diatonic tongue-blocking mostly. I don't remember when this video was posted but I started playing in April. Thanks for listening!

  • Hey I am also a beginner at playing at Harmonica. I don't learn formally but just jam and my playing sounds kind of similar to yours except that you don't seem to put enough soul into your playing. It sounds very uninspired. But still very good.

  • lets see your work then.

  • sounds great just try to fit in the 12bar changes im workin on that 2 as well

  • Sounds great for a beginner to me. Keep at it bud!

  • It's a good first vid man. You say you're using tongue blocking, but your tone sounds like you're puckering. Other than that, overall solid performance for a "beginner" :)

  • I'll take that as a compliment to my tongue-blocking tone. I am indeed tongue blocking, so thanks :)
