Actually, Health insurance won't cover alternative cancer therapy because they don't use drugs; THEY CAN'T PROFIT OFF OF CANCER UNLESS DRUGS ARE USED. It's all about the money for them. But you have to ask, is curing cancer and paying 4 grand more important than getting chemo and radiation, run a very high risk of dying from that, then run another risk of getting cancer again and radiation actually cause cancer by suppressing your immune system. Thats a fact.

For the record the average money an alternative practitioner will make per patient is around $5000. 10 G if you want the VIP treatment as opposed to doing it from home. The notion that "natural" is better than "synthetic" is a myth. Penicillin occurs "naturally" in mold, but most people would rather take a pill. When you take the active ingredient out of the natural, you are taking the part that works, and getting rid of everything that does nothing, or is actually harmful. Well at least we agree on one thing. Ultimately the body cures itself and the whole version of the movie explains this and offers information you may not get just by going to your doctor especially if your doctor is an old dog who won't learn new tricks. Fortunately there are young/up and coming/doctors that are willing to learn. There is science behind natural thereapies. Okay, now you are just completely lying. The studies are not conducted in the same laboratory manner as many other, simpler therapies, but all chemo protocols are VERY HEAVILY compared and researched and blinded and controlled. It's verymisleading to say that "there is science behind natural therapies". The vast majority of what we refer to as CAM have fallen flat when put to the question "does it work?" in a scientific manner.

My camera guy camera guy cured himself of prostate cancer and my assosiate producer of breast cancer while shooting this using alternative methods rather than surgery/chemo/radiation. If you watch the whole movie it gives both sides of the story and leaves it up to the individual to decide what would be best for them. And if you want to use the phrase "cured himself" that's fine too, because ultimately it really is the body that heals itself after the surgery and does much of the fighting and certainly picking up the pieces of the cancer cells that the chemo/radiation help to kill. But to say he did it "using alternative methods" implies that those methods had anything to do with it which is a lie.
