Hi. I noticed that too! lol! I think it was all part of the screenplay; use the flag then toss it down away...that kind of thing. It was used to show the motivation of Melvin P. Thorpe's character. I.E. Use it then lose it kind of mentality. I enjoy this movie so. *grin* Exploitation is the game for characters like this, you see, imo.
