No one said they can't walk or have legs, but it's unrealistic to think that a species that evolved completely separately from any of Earth's lifeforms on an entirely different planet would have basically the exact same anatomy as humans.

Anatomy refers to the bodily structure including body parts of an organism.

Minus the tendrils, the antennas, and the laughably impractical proportions, their bodies are basically anthropomorphic: they're humanoids with a bit of an insect flair (like we've never seen this before) It's not a big deal considering most sci fi movies feature aliens like this, but it would be good to see more originality on that part. That goes for almost all of sci fi.

Your points are valid I suppose. But for a 30 Million dollar picture, a totally new feature length director, and a brand new actor, I say they did a damn good job for their first work. They're trying to be original and we really need that in an age of remakes and sequels. I love that the movie was ugly, dark, gross, and even horrifying and unsettling at times because I feel that's what it would be like/has been like for people who are different and terrorized for it. I don't know man, all the things you pointed out that you thought were bad about the movie, I really thought helped it. The "bad" lighting making it ugly, the torture, the shaky camera footage. It took the whole concept of the alien invasion and made it seem very real. This movie, this idea, couldn't have been made if it was pretty and left out all the unsettling parts. You contradicted yourself with the "Why do the aliens look like humans?!" and then, "You couldn't even understand the aliens!"

Since you have a reason for the opening, you shouldn't condider a revision because one person thinks it's a 20 second seizure party. But I would slow down the shots and cut the intro time in half.
