  • that is an awesome looking bus !

  • She sounds like she's ISM and Voith powered

  • the engine has to be a cummins ISL330 with an Allison/GE 50e hybrid drive. the ISM is not compatible with the hybrid drive transmissions.

  • not sure the engine in this coach, but King County Metro's first order of 235 buses, just like this in 2004, had a CAT C9, a change made just before delivery, because Cummins couldn't meet the Emissions standards. It sounds like our buses, idling and taking off, until the Gillig ruins the sound. Our new order of 40 more DE60LF's in 2008 have Cummins engine though, but they sound a little different.

  • 40? Are these on hand yet? A Eugene visit might be in order (as long as i can find them)

  • Sorry, I mean the order of 235, and the new order of 40, are in Seattle. Not Eugene.

  • The ISM engine is NOT compatible with the Allison/GE EP50 Hybrid Drive transmission. Only the ISL330 and the former CAT C9

  • Sounds like it has Cummins ISM this time.

  • Man you have to get a video on board one of those.

  • If you want a video inside one of these DE60LF's, search Seattle Metro Hybrids or King County Metro Hybrids. There a ton of videos. I'm lucky enough to drive one of those Hybrids everyday.....awesome bus. We were the first to have 60ft Hybrid in North America and we currently have about 235 from 2004, and about 40 more from 2008.
