  • HOLY CRAP you have over 138,000 freakin videos

  • you need to sack you cam opperator!! didn't see a thing on the Scribing edge... but love ya clip and teaching... well done

  • actually, no..... i cant see XD

  • im sorry but i make handmade knives and i eye ball them and my knives are dead on. never used any scribes, maybe thats why the locals here in fl love them lol i dunno too me its an art form and when you start scribes its like tracing something and calling it art, taking the time to make it, checking it everey ten minutes, now thats a real knife, you might as well let a big company make the knife for you if you are going to start setting things up, and who cares if its a hair off, its true art

  • wow i have been intrested in knives for a while now but have just started to want to build them i think im just going to stick to the kits for now...

  • come on at me bro, come on at me bro, im a hedge hog yo, come on at me bro!

  • how cast is better

  • could someone tell me in what order to do these steps? (refering to this nice persons videos)

  • @kamaaina3 no offence. but cant you work it out? i would tell you, but i dont know either. try looking on google for rough guide :)

  • ...and as you can see.. and the camera zooms out :-)

  • thats a good idea i need to try that

  • Whatever works

  • GOD theres a lot of hate out there.

  • Okay guys. Shut the fuck up please and leave the man alone. Excuse my tone but ya'll lil'motherfuckers who probably haven't passed puberty yet don't know what you're talking about, even though you may think you do. He's trying to HELP you, you assholes. So yeah. Do yourselves a favour and get your dick stuck in a meat grinder; maybe just get the tip cut off. If you're too poor to invest in this shit, then stfu and go play with kitchen knives.

  • oh god get ride of the fucking text please !

  • my mate made a knife with rough trousers and roof tile that is probably better then what u can make

  • I am the person in the video and was not in charge of zooming or camera position so I'm sorry. I was asked to do this video for expertvillage so it was not even shot in my shop. why so much hate, i made knives for years before i had a grinder. I have so many orders for knives i have to use a belt grinder in order to meet the demand for my knives. I dont think you have to have all the tools i do to make a knife but if you need to actually make a living then you do.

  • @jtcustomknives I agree. I don't have a belt grinder and I get along fine. Scribing can help especially for those that haven't developed an eye for squareness (which takes a good deal of time and plenty of failed knives). it was nice of you to share some insight. Please ignore these noobs, nobody who actually make knives from start to finish would act like that. Professionals at worst would have a friendly disagreement about technique.

  • @MrIronman1979 Now I understand why you can't sell your knives.

  • @hantasanta Hey, if you didn't know, Mr.Iron man made an 18 video long response to the comment that you actually deleted. If you haven't seen it, well he thrashed you good, especially since you didn't make any stand whatsoever. Also from the information gleaned from your other comments, you seem more like a petty, ignorant insulter.

  • @MrIronman1979 lmao You crack me up Scott

  • @ArtistBlade1972 LOL. Sorry. I think I mighta got a wee bit carried away. Oops. Hahahahaha.

  • Making a knife sharp can mean a lot

  • @LASTMAN024 Yes and No is my opinion. Making a knife sharp can mean the difference between a GOOD tool and a mediocre one with no use. However, anyone here will tell you that the test of a knife is not simply it'd ability to cut...but it's ability to STAY SHARP, take abuse and be forgiving when strained. Grind geometry, blade design and heat treating are FAR more important than wheather it has a good edge or not.

  • I love these videos as far as the advise and the video of the "how to". It is in fact very good. Under 1 circumstance: That's provided you have a belt grinder. Unfortunately...most knifemakers i know (including myself) Just can't afford the damn things and parts are expensive enough it's costly to build one too. So in essence if you don't have a belt grinder...the video is kind of pointless. On the bright side however it's not necessary for making knives, and the advise still applies, sort of.

  • @MrIronman1979 Completely true. I don't own one either.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm deffinatly going to try to make one.

  • We couldn't see you do anything. Show the markings.

  • isn't "as you can see" a cue to zoom in not out.
