The only thing I don't like is the engine's chugging rate. It should be two chuffs per revolution of the drive wheels, then it would sound awsome going down the track.

@SouthernRR4501 it's a starter set by lionel, there is ways to modify the smoke unit, but I don't recommend it if you don't know how to do it.

You better take that back pbmja. So what if the track if has 3 rails, is that suppose to be a problem? Also o gauge isn't the only gauge Lionel makes. They happen to make s gauge and g gauge trains, which are 2 rail gauges.

@pbmja Lionel, MTH, K-Line, there is a lot of companies that make 3 rail track, 3 rail o scale is considered Toy trains in most cases, but Lionel has been around a lot longer than you have, so they don't obviously suck
