  • DO NOT STOP ON TRACKS means DO NOT STOP ON TRACKS.

  • REST IN PEACE GABE NEWALL.

  • that was crazyy and one car was pushed for about 1/2 mile downn

  • oooohhh.now i understand why trains honk like a hell , even during the night ( fuc* them ) in Elmwood Park. I an new in the village and sometimes I couldn't even sleep because it was so noisy ..

  • I live in Elmwood Park :D

  • when did this happen?

  • god i remember this!!!! so sad!!! :( i only lived there for like a month and saw it right in front of me from that happening

  • i live where this happened- i saw it from my house it was insane,.,

  • I really wish Elmwood Park would try to seek either state and/or federal funding, to do a grade-separation of the Grand Ave. crossing. If nearby Franklin Park successfully did it with a few of their railroad crossings, why can't Elmwood Park also step up to the plate?

It's almost 4 years now since this wreck, and sadly still, nothing has been done to fix this crossing....

  • @prfsnlwannabe

You can't fix stupid, either. Those idiots should NOT have been on the tracks in the first place.

  • I Was There Wen i Heard It I Ran Down The Stairs And I Walked Like 1 Block And It Was Memorable

  • i live rite by the tracks i was like wtf and another reck just happend about a month or two ago

  • i live right by the tracks n i could see the whole thing from my house

  • lol i was on the way from a basketball game when this happened and i passed it on the way home

  • Thank you for posting this, I'm doing a project on this accident and the local news stations can't use their own websites, so the official videos have long since disappeared.

Incidentally, there were 18 cars involved with six hit directly by the train and 12 more involved in "secondary impacts". I can't believe no one was killed.

  • they got hit because they tried 2 go around the gates cause there was no train coming yet because i live there lol

  • how'd he hit them?

  • it hit more then 7 or 8 cars!

  • i went on the tracks and there was windshield everywhere

  • ooooh shit

    glad i moved outta there

    when did this happen?

  • yea i cant believe i didnt hear it i live near the tracks i was playing my video game and i flipped back to tv and i saw some breaking news of a train crash i look out my window 4 helicopters police everywhere..im like holy...fuck...

  • I WANT 2 SEE THE ACTION

  • why did you record AFTER the wreck??

  • yea he knew exactly when the wreck was gonna happen. he's jesus.

  • Why are you calling this a train wreck? The train didn't derail. In fact it probably was barely even damaged. A bunch of cars were where they had no right to be and THEY were wrecked. Moral: Don't go on the track until there is room for you on the other side. Sheesh.

  • I drove over those tracks twice a day in rush hour traffic for 8 years when I was living in EP and I never got stuck on the tracks! I still say that it happened because some people who drive over that particular set of tracks don't pay attention to the traffic lights ahead of the intersection. There were signs all over the place even before that accident: "Long crossing--do not stop on tracks."

  • it was a chain reaction! Only two cars got hit by the actual train but the impact force threw them into other vehicles. Nobody got really hurt! but there were some broken arms and legs.

  • i drove by that night when it happened...

i swear, i couldn't believe no one got hurt... it was a mess.. thank God!

  • Waaaaah! No video of the actual crash?

  • Are you sure it wasn't a case of a whole bunch of morons parking too close to the tracks? I've seen a LOT of stupid people out there do it...

  • That's exactly what happen to those retards that were on the track.

    They all just got....JACKED UP!!!

  • how the f*ck did this happen? A train couldnt possibly hit that many cars! Did one car get hit, and then it hit the rest?

  • The tracks are very wide and on an angel. So you can easily fit 6 cars on the tracks.

  • @BlackJello

You are not supposed to stop on those tracks, period, That is why there are signs that say DO NOT STOP ON TRACKS.

  • how does a train hit that many cars? was it off the track? were they on the track?

  • i was in a fatal train wreck in oakland CA on june 10th. it was horrible.

  • how could you have been in a fatal wreck, and still be typing. did you get revived. i thought to be classified as fatal you would have to have remained dead.

  • Oh my Gosh!! I was actually driving up to Elmwood Park to visit my grandparents on the same day about 2 min. before the accident we rode over those same train tracks its so scary to think that could have been me if we had had one 2 min. delay i could be dead right now

  • I live in Elmwood Park, everyone survived, there was this one other person that actually got hit by the train but she survived...thankfully

  • did anyone survive?

  • They all did!
