My palpitations have been getting more and more frequent. Now, they occur every 12-20 seconds. They disrupt my studying and they make my whole body tiingle. I have to stop what I'm doing while a palpitation is occuring because it makes my hands and feet twitch violently. I've already been to the hospital twice for this, but they can't find what's wrong with me. D:
Im 17..iv been having heart palpitations for about 3 years now? They wernt that bad back then..but now they are actually geting worse.. Its reali anoying tbh..i dont like being aware of my heartbeat! especially, when im aware that its dramatically reducing:( it feels scary..especially wen it hapns at nyt wen im asleep, cuz sumtimes i wont knw its hapning and i wake up gasping.
i did alot of research about it online ect.. but have been too scared to tell anyone..i dont know why?
@Safura1601 I know how you feel. Sometimes when i dream i feel the palpitation in my dream, and im pretty sure im having one in real life. It sorta bothers me too, but as long as i know im ok and normal, i can live with it. If youre really bothered by it though, try and have an electrocardiogram.
My mom might be having them right now she said she feels a fluttery feeling and that she just felt "strange" She may go to the hospital tonight just to be checked out.
@ihadnothingtodo No. I have resting heart beat of 40-44 bpm. I got Heart Palpitations when sitting still for long periods of time. It feel's like your heart stops completely for 1 second and next second it beats 3 times during that 2nd second, and then slows down to normal. Its really scary but my doctor said that I have athlete’s heart and cause are glitches in brain signals. Due to chemical imbalance I consumed tons of caffeine daily, and when i stopped Palpitations was gone.
@NewPSCity Electrocardiogram is a device that simply records the electric activity in the heart and records the time at which any palpitations occur and can help to show why. They are efficient in that they can record the heart for long periods of time. I recently just had an echocardiogram. The difference with that is that an echocardiogram is much like an ultrasound. The doctor can actually show you what your heart looks like, it shows the valves and the blood flow.
@TaurenCheese thanks for the response, Do echocradiograms detect diseases or any serious heart problems? I got my results and was told by my doctor that it was normal.
@NewPSCity They detect some diseases and heart problems, but not all. Mine was normal too. He said that its normal to have palpitations and that it's probably caused by stress. He said all my tests were normal, to be sure, he said that whenever i felt the palpitation to check my heart beat rhythm on my wrist to see if it was abnormally fast after the palpitation, as he said it could be tachychardia. However, after a palpitation it was normal, so i think im pretty ok, Just gotta live with it lol
Acid indigestion or anxiety are usually the causes of palpatations. Unfourtunatly I expieriece both of those.

Question, whats the difference between an eletricardiogram and a Echocardiogram? I need to get a echocardiogram soon.
