  • Going there this 10/22/2011 ,from Fairfax Virginia 0_0

  • central NC has beautiful scenery, this is a video of urban interstates so what do you expect, mountains with flowers and pines all over them? i live in greensboro and can easily say that once you get outside of the city and on those narrow highways, it is way more than flat and boring landscapes.

  • @ASkywalker1 I will agree that Central NC is rather flat & boring from a scenery aspect but the Western Part of the state is very mountainous and beautiful, I have several videos (In HD) from Western NC, I invite you to check them out.

  • oh man hes driving at 140mph .. lol

  • @fantagekeith20988 I think Charlotte or Fayetteville has that title.

  • Hey...highways in Durham are a TAX issue..roads are a big deal now..more people..more problems...and TROUBLE is where you find it,..we have the best of alot of things , just ask all of the "move ins" from all these othere states. BEST colleges...BEST..HBCU's...great medicine and health opp's...foody towns, don't forget the absolute best 4 season weather for free..mountain/piedmont/coast. I'm staying!! ...:)

  • @jeterangela lol Im from Greenville, NC, but I definitely agree. I'm moving to either Cary or Morrisville in a few months....

  • This is sped up right, otherwise you are driving very fast.

  • @esca8652 Yes, it is sped up about 4x regular speed.

  • @esca8652 SMH. I honestly cannot believe you asked that question...

  • @2REALTVOFFICIAL I was high...

  • tailgaiting much? golly!

  • @fantagekeith20988 Parts of Durham are actually posh and safe. Suburban-like parts to the south and north of city centre.

  • @JohnRhysMusician Posh? Maybe. Safe? lol Idk...

  • Have you driven on the new urban loop, That wraps around greensboro?

  • @disracenboi336 -Part of it, yes.

  • I live off 68 in Oak Ridge; nice to see some hometowness!

  • im from greensboro, and it look like u are speeding....lol

  • DUDE

    what music are you playing

  • @gotthkid2 the song is "I Love Music" by the O'Jays (1975), one of my favorites.

  • @Freewayjim thanks....i thought it sounded something that my dad listens to.

  • @gotthkid2 Something you obvioulsy know NOTHING about.

  • @2REALTVOFFICIAL not really,.. i was just wondering what it was. because i actuly thought i heard it from somewhere

  • Damn your going really fast!!!!! Your passing all them cars and trucks!!!!!

  • @N0GivenName -Video is sped up about 3.5x, makes it look more dramatic than it really was.

  • So cool to see the "I-40 bypass" under construction (i refuse to call it I-73)

  • gracias por tu video

  • thanks for the post! i would like to see u go from the border of VA down Greensboro or something. Im from Oxford at mile marker #204 and i live a way from there for now but i love to see "HOME"!!! all i can say is Carolina on my mind!

  • You are welcome.

I-85 North of Durham ain't gonna happen as a video, It's an extremely boring stretch of road all the way to Petersburg, VA IMO, sorry.

  • Death Valley is really not that hard to drive through......Just keep the gas down and go the speed limit...Did it for 5 years everyday, most of the time I was on 2 wheels and no problem!

  • I am so PLEASED that they widened I-85 in Durham. Haven't been on that stretch since 2004 after coming from Henderson way up north visiting relatives. It was so cramped for years; now it's much nicer with multiple lanes. Nice use of O'Jays song. Philadelphia soul artists like O'Jays and Pendergrass always sound great in Durham!

  • Jeez, how fast are you going? Your passing people like they are standing still. I go between 70-85 and I can barely keep up with the rest of Greensboro's motorists. Love your music!

  • Thanks.

I'm going 70-75 ish, it just looks more exaggerated because the footage is sped up.

  • Been there many times...I'd pick G'boro's roads over Winston's roads anyday. I need to go down 68 and visit my family there btw. This vid reminded me of that lol.

  • At 2:05 you survived Death Valley! NCDOT's rebuilding of 85 in Durham took ages, but I certainly enjoy it now. The faster I'm through the City of Medicine the better. Awesome video, BTW.

  • Where is Death Valley again? I hear locals refer to some part of I-40 and I-85 Business as Death Valley.

  • Death Valley is now Business I-85 through downtown Greensboro.

  • From :30 to 1:18 is where I speed every day of course! And I race on that 15-501 ramp to Hillsborough Rd also! At the 15-501 exit, drivers love to get off 85 at the very last minute, almost crashing into the exit 174 sign to get on the ramp!

  • LAWD HAVE MERCY!! And I live here and I'm FLYING down this stretch of 85! The speed limit from 70 to the Durham Frwy. is 60 and I'm doing 85-90! Especially coming down that ramp from 70 west! I flew past the police one night wanting to go down that ramp on 70 and I freaked out and slammed my brakes cause I didn't wanna get pulled over. As soon as I got on 85 I went back to going 85. I didn't get pulled over, thank God!! And yes, this stretch was a hot mess before it got reconstructed!!

  • yo Jim, this is cool man. It made me want to take a trip back home. I'm from Durham and I went to school at A&T in Greensboro. I used to be scared of coming through in the left lane in Durham, because I used to always see cops posted just as you enter the city before the Durham Freeway (NC-147) exit.

  • Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride!

  • yeah nice video, that was old. you should revisit Greensboro again because half of the Urban Loop is already open (I-40 bypass) and all that..

  • the high way lines lool almost like an illusion or something! lol

  • Thank you, I put alot of thought in to these things. I love highways but highway videos at normal speed are boring.

  • Live in Greensboro - driven these roads many many times. - Work at State Fair in Raleigh every year and travel to and from the fairgrounds for 10 days each year. Love the music on this video too!!!

  • I love this vid. went right through my hometown.

use to live off xit 177 off 85 (Roxboro rd.).

  • area is called braggtown

  • My brother lives in North Carolina and we drove this route in Durham on December 30, 2007. It was raining while we were driving route 85. We even went to Chapel Hill as well. We even went under several overpasses when we drove on the freeway in Durham. I never been to Greensboro before though.

  • 2002 UNC grad.

I remember when I first came to this place. I-85 was only two lanes through Durham. I-40 was only two lanes from NC 147 until it met up with 85 to Greensboro. I was surprised by the amount of lanes and traffic from Durham to Greensboro.

  • i like that trash talk

  • 3:15 thats jimmys turbo 4door acord lol tuned b18 with garret turbo kit nice... makes 342 at the front wheels. lol ima tell him his car is on this video...god im surprised he didnt start acting up lol

  • Cool video. This takes me back to when my family would take trips to NC twice a year to visit family. I-85 was a mess with all the construction back then.

  • Great song! Kida reminds me of Earth Wind and Fire.

  • Good call, it's actually the O'Jays

  • From 1:50 to 2:10, I drive that everyday to work.

  • i wish i could go to north carolina

  • NC is okay...it's not all that great. Where are you from??

  • New City, New York

  • Wow...I used to live in Mt. Vernon NY...218 South 9th Ave...yep...good times. And NY is WAAYY better : )

  • Well go back to NY if it's better. Take all the rest of the transplants from the south with you!

  • Wow...you seem to have gotten a bit perturb...if it bothers you that I just so happen to like NY better, obviously you have a ecological brain function that permits you to need psychotherapy.

  • Thanks for the ride!

  • Wow this vid actually helped me out! I always get lost on 85 and this helped a bunch! What song did you use? sounds like great driving music!

  • I'm glad it was helpful to you. The song was a classic, "I Love Music" by the O'Jays from the early 70's, it is indeed great driving music.
