Awesome dude but strange music tastes. Most of those tracks he listed apart from Arthur Russell are like psychedelic style music. Completely different to the sort of music he plays. But he's an interesting guy nonetheless. Seems to have pain behind his eyes a lot of the time though.

okay, i can appreciate that Total Life Forever was hard work, and emotionally draining to tour, but that's why its so good. Giving in to the commercial urge is giving up. I understand the attraction to commercial 'simplicity', but you are on the verge of becoming one of the greatest bands of all time. Keep pushing. When it stops being difficult, you've lost it.

i love yannis, i love foals, i live in oxford, the city foals grew up in, but he doesnt half talk some shit sometimes. i think because he usually keeps words and thoughts to himself, but instead shares them as wonderful music..

Carver, Bukowski and Foster Wallace are definitely some of my favourite writers. It seems that yannis is predominantly interested in american post-modernism: i.e. things like Paul Auster, Saul Bellow, Don DeLillo also.
