@Nmaley101 i was told a story by some GIs that lost a couple of stripes after they got drunk from the "Rocket Juice" as they called it, i heard one or more stages was powered with alcohol.
@Nmaley101 the Unit I belonged to @ Lone Jack, MO also had 3 magazines. I was a missile crewman at Battery B, 3rd Missile Battalion, 128th Artillery, MO Army National Guard. We did SNAP (short notice annual practice) launches at White Sands, NM annually to insure readiness and proficiency.
Now this was a very powerful anti-aircraft/missile missile system. Replacing this system with the sissy patriot was a mistake. This missile could've been modified and improved in so many different ways. It could've been put on trucks or trailers with up to 6-8/truck. There were so many different options on deploying and using this system. That's why the Russians wanted included it in the SALT treaty. But they had no objection against the Patriot. They knew that their S-300 is better.

Served in a Nike Herc Unit in Swedesboro, New Jersey in the '70's. Part of the Philadelphia Air Defense Command.

my pops was in charge of these sites back in the day. i have a BG snap with him standing next to an actual working missile @ a test site.
