this man was something incredible. if you see his eyes by the end of the song, he is about to cry. this is a musician at his best, loving what he is doing!
What a wonderful display of utter exellence. We who have a few years on us are truly privileged to have been exposed to this artist at the top of his game, Bravo, bravo maestro!
Put this up against the seering garbage and no-talents of "Britains got talent" and "Americas got talent" or "Pop idol" or "American idol" it's opposite ends of the spectrum - the magnificence and massive talent of Pavarotti, the NO-talent karaoke morons of the badly misnamed "talent" shows.
I love being able to see Pavarotti's expression at the end w/ the last "vincero" and how he reacts to the crowd - POWERFUL!. Is this on dvd anywhere? If so, do you know if it's still available?
@raideenj It seems like he's more in shock at his own power--kind of like, "Oh my gosh......I did it!" His career wasn't doing to well at this time, he really needed to nail that note.
I was lucky enough to be at this concert in Los Angeles. It is something I will never forget, I heard the voice of God that night. I also love the expression on Pavarotti's face at the end, almost like he's coming out of a trance and realizes what an outstanding rendition that was.
Nobody shall sleep!... Nobody shall sleep! Even you, o Princess, in your cold room, watch the stars, that tremble with love and with hope. But my secret is hidden within me, my name no one shall know... No!...No!... On your mouth I will tell it when the light shines. And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!... (No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.) Vanish, o night! Set, stars! Set, stars! At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!
Thankyou for this. This is the performance everyone should try to live up too. Sua voce ha una passione molto profonda! Nessun lacrime, ma molto piangente. Grazie, tu è bello!

Wow. I'm just amazed. I don't know the words, but I could listen to him sing all day long.
It's amazing how he sings so effortlessly and still the passions almost breaks my computer. Love it.
And there really is a difference between a "REAL" tenor and the likes of Mr Paul Potts. There I said it.
