I need help! i bought a graphics card that takes a 6 and 8 pin pci. thats fine but my power supply is one where you have to plug a seperate periferal cord in for each thing to keep everything clean. the problem is i can either have a 12v3 or 12v4 output from my power supply to my graphics supply and idk which one to use. i just randomly chose to try the 12v3 and my computer turns on but shuts down right after. please help or message me if you need more details.
I have no idea where to connect the power supply to the computer. I only have one free cable for some reason. Where do I connect the other cable to the computer? I don't know anything about this stuff
@Spartan117FS Hi, Just one question mate, i have a Elite 500w P4 power suply and i have a brand new EVGA GeForce GTX560 Ti 448 Cores, uninstalled yet, so, can i install that card whit my actual power suply? thanks in advace
@Spartan117FS Heya have happy NY tnx for the reply, i had upgrade my PWS as you suggeted for a 1200 w dvs, but i have a problemt: Everything is workin just fine, except when i play a game called Total War, one of my favs by the way, but in the moment i begin the action, my UPS stars to beep, and the speed fan voltage monitor that i use to check my sistem, shows the Voltage up to 80-85 c on the CPU. So, my doubt is that must i Upggrade my UPS to match the voltages of my PWS?
Okay, it's really difficult to make sense out of this post for me, sot if you could clear it up a bit it could help. Could you please tell me what you mean by "my "UPS" stars to beep" What is this UPS? by PWS I assume you mean the power suplly? And I think you got voltages and temperatures mixed up. None the less, the power supply will never feed more electricity then it needs to so you dont need to upgrade other components to keep up with the power supply..
@Spartan117FS Sorry if i didnt explain more clearly to you about this issue. When i said "my "UPS" stars to beep", i refer to my voltage regulator and Battery Back Up wich when i play those games that i mention to you, begin to make a "beep" sound kind of alarm, and yes PWS stands for Power Supply. I ask you this 'cos i cant remember that where i read about an advice to upgrade the battery back up alongside whit the PC power supply, to avoid this kind of issues.
I've seen alot of backup battery operated power supplies, and usually the standart maximum output varies from 500-800 watts, if you have a 1200w power supply, obviously the backup battery is not enough. You should check on the Battery Backup device what the maximum output is, and if it does not meet the requirements you will certainly need to replace the device. Personally I just plug my PC directly into the wall.
i have an asus power peak 300w ATX and it doesnt have a pci express cable. What can I do?I need it to connect a grafic board ( NVIDIA GPU. (9800GTX+) . Pls someone healp me .
Yes, that would work too. However I had to combat against my camera when I was building the system flat (as either the camera was getting on the way, or I was getting on the way of the camera.
To uninstall the card, you just do the installation backwards.
Remove the retention screw that you see me installing at 2:55 then remove the card by holding down on the retention bracket on the PCI-E Slot. (on the video you can see the white bracket on the end of the red lane of the motherboard)
I'm studying fine arts, yes. My life is pretty rough since I don't have much free time at the moment. I go to school during days, work during nights and weekends.

Can I put a crossfire on with HIS Radeon HD 6950 IceQ X Turbo 2GB and GIGABYTE ATI Radeon HD6950 1GB ? or it's just as long as it's the same which is 2x card of Radeon HD 6950? right?
i have question can i put sli bringe to EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti and PNY VCGGTX550TXPB GeForce GTX 550 Ti i'm not sure if i can i don't what get burned some thing.
Okies well i have Gtx 560 recently and am gonna soon fit it i was wondering do i need two 6 pin pci express supplementary power connectors in and connected to 2 Molex cables in each of them ?
My current computer has an nVidia GeForce 210 and a power supply of 350 Watts. If I want to upgrade my graphics card to a nVidia GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB would I need a bigger power suppy?
@Spartan117FS Haha, I figured. Is there any way to tell if my motherboard can handle the 580 as well? I don't know much about motherboards, and I want to make sure that if I upgrade to a better graphics card that everything will work right..
Well, I would not reccomend a GTX 580 for you if you don't understand what your motherboard/cpu are.
Since you have a 350w power supply, I assume that your CPU is quite old, and you would run into bottlenecking with anything above a GT540. To run a card like GTX 580, you will need a good CPU too.
If you are building a rig with a GTX 580, you should start from scratch, or have a previously top of the line board. However, the requirment for 580 is PCI-E x16 2.0 slot. On the mobo.
@Spartan117FS So would it be better/cheaper to just build a brand new rig from scratch? I've thought about just doing that, but thought maybe it'd be cheaper to just get new parts. But my current computer is old, and can handle games at low-mid settings (CoD 4 and MW2), but I want to be able to play games like BF3 and MW3 at High-Ultra settings. And I also edit a lot with Sony Vegas and After Effects. So I'm assuming a new rig would be the best thing to do.?
Well a GTX 560 TI will be fine for running Ultra, you won't really need anything like a 580 for that.
But from the sounds of it, I would definately reccomend assembling a new PC. If you slam a GTX 580 in your current rig, you will still propably not be able to run ultra since the CPU will bottleneck your system.
Yo noob, I have run the cable like this for the last 8 years of assembling my rigs, on some cases it's the only way plausible to run the wire since it's too short. Definately won't break the wire and will make the rig look ever so cleaner.
I was thinking of building an affordable gaming PC for around $600-$1000, but I don't really know where to start, btw, I'm completely new to building PC's and parts for PC's. I need help, can anyone assist me?
So far my rig has cost me a little above 3200 euros (4400 U.S. dollars), but Finland is super expensive. If you live in the states you can propably get the same stuff for 2500-3000 U.S. dollars.
