@wthjrtx1 It's a damn shame what happened to some very good people through liberalization of the legal system. Men in this country need to wake up and realize their right are being erodded at an alarming rate. We're finding out its actually woman who are the more violent within the home, but the public perception is the exact opposite.

I really wish my church would talk about this. Our leaders keep telling men and boys that they need to be respectful to women and girls. They have never told women and girls to be respectful to men and boys, and there are plenty who have taken this to mean that they can treat men every bit as nastily as they want.

@loqutor Yeah, I really think this is a big problem with DV. The girls are kind of taught that its almost acceptable to become violent during arguements with their spouses. All this does is escalate the situation. In actuality women are now more violent within the realtionship. Let's teach boys and girls about this stuff, not just the boys.

This is something I've known about for a long time. I grew up in a household with an abusive mother. She was mean to everybody, but she was the worst to my father.

Thanks for posting this Jim, I know this has gotten out of hand and that women now use it in anger to teach the men a lesson. What they don't realize is that once the guy gets arrested he will pay whether he is guilty or not. These pretend damsels in distress are ruininig it for the ones who truly get battered.

@modster2007 Hi Mari, how are ya? I think my main point is that we need to educate men and women that its not OK to hit your spouse, not just the men. The PSA's usually just come at it from the point of view of just the men being violent, and that's not reality.

I had a mental case girlfriend before who at times just screamed her face off at me for no apparent reason. Then one night she was hitting me then I grabbed her Wrist and put her to the ground. She yelled, "I'm calling the police!!!" lol

When you stop and think about it, it only makes sense. It's kind of an insult to the intellect that supersedes natural causality that Marriage would tend toward such violence. GF/BF scenarios are more of a testing ground where people are less familiar and unpredicting of emergent clashes. Most people see marriage as a consolidation of a functioning relationship, and so there is BOUND to be more harmony. Sure, HALF fail. But the almost all non-marital relationships end.
