@unknownunknowns Why? Because european want to sell their cars to them. Did you notice that even when gas price is an issue those companies never bring their economical cars in the US. Mercedes does not bring A class. BMW has nice 2 liter 1 and 3 series, VW has nice 1.6 1.4 liter cars. Instead they bring that crappy smart for two. Not to difficult to see that europeans want to sell their big cars to Americans otherwise no one would have bought.
@Fussinated I'm just trying to think if it's the Germans (I use this name instead of "Europeans" as those are the brand I only see) who want to do this OR we Americans who want to have this certain 'luxury' perception that makes them not want to bring those cheaper cars over here. Anyway, I am seeing this perception evolve as I notice more people driving Mercedes C-Class 'sport' models than 'luxury'. Also, some of the BMW 3 series models look less 'bling' and more substantive.
@unknownunknowns Well Jaguar Ferrari Bugatti etc but those don't have small cars even though those countries have smaller car makers. I think politically. Eu is trying to rival the US. So weakened US is a less formidable nemesis. If gas prices go high those cars will be a burden on the economy. Let me explain. If you increase the average MPG of the vehicles by 1 mpg in the US the money saved will between 6 Billion to 8 Billion dollars. So forget 50 60 mpg cars increase the average, see my point?
@Fussinated Yes but we, as a whole, love these SUVs and 'crossovers' (whatever than means). Also, we seem to be having unrealistic approaches towards the 50 mpg car as we find electric Prius' premium takes years for recouping.
The rear seats can fit adults fine, I've had 4 5'8" + people in my 135i a few times comfortably. The interior room is exactly the same as the 335i in terms of leg room front and back, although it's narrower.
this guy says when you lower the steering wheel it obscures the dials.....doh! yeah and if you sit in the back seat you cant reach the ignition...this is a consumer report or a statement of the obvious?
@Fussinated Yes, but I'm just saying that we see him demonstrating that you can BOTH adjust the seat height and the steering wheel, so he really should not be complaining that he can't see the gauges.
I hate Consumer Report Reviews.

Go check out the Genesis Coupe: similar performance, good comfort, but at a reasonable price. Not to mention the KILLER looks.

You can't be serious! To compare it to the Genesis Coupe!

Americans are brainwashed to think the BMWs, Mercedes, and Audis are only 'luxury' cars, unfortunately.

If you can't see the dials, LOWER the seat height as this bastard demonstrated.

@unknownunknowns You see the basic theory is that the car should be adjusted according to you not vice versa.
