  • @redredreds100 Who the hell taught you English? None of what you have written makes sense. Is English your first, or even your fifth, language? Uselsss tosser!

  • @RelativeBadger actually, I think you must be really dumb, I mistakenly wrote "too" instead of "two" now no one but you couldn't understand the comment, sorry that "one" word threw you, had you had average, inteligence, or a modicomb of a brain, you would have figured that out. Any way, read this slowly, so you understand, GO FUCK YOURSELF MORON,,, did you get it? goodbye, carry on your boring life

  • Episode 1895 aired on 17 April 1973.

  • It was shit then and its shit now"

  • 1895 is the number of episodes not the DATE you PILLARK! hahahhahahahahahahahhah

  • Please dpmt call me pillark thanks it upsets me. I was just joking and I might have been known to make a fool of myself.

  • Probably one of the worst( therefore best) of this tawdry waste of TV equipment:)

  • Acorn Antiques in a Motel!

    Brilliantly bad!

  • Crossroads- so bad it was good

  • I can't work out whether Rosemary Hunter was a good actress or not! She is very thespian like isn't she? So was Ronnie Allen, who played David.

  • Well Ronnie Allen was RADA trained, which should say something. Janet Hargreaves still acts today. I think it's a question of changing acting styles with slightly OTT and melodramatic being the order of the day. If you watch Ronald Allen's performances in other shows (Compact, Dr.Who, Bergerac, Generations, Comic strip etc etc) I think it shows just what a good character actor he was!

  • My mum watched this crap

  • Its not crap

  • ok, just poor acting and a rotten storyline

  • And your definition of good would be? I think you'll find it's easy to access than most soap operas these days.

You must also understand that it is acted in a very specific way, using emotional memory technique etc. The more bland form of acting we are used to these days is a consequence of drama having no rehearsal time.

  • My definition of good would be acting that is not so hammy that it reeks of a pork butchers whose refrigeration has gone on the blink.

  • Define "hammy" please. If you look at this out of context then of course it (the style) looks different. As I say, it's all a question of context.

  • You are absolutely right! There is rarely any emotion behind acting in soaps these days as, like you say, there is no rehearsal time as the producers need to churn out five or six episodes a week to satisfy the public's insatiable thirst for wall to wall soaps. They are no longer a TV event anymore - i mean, I used to look forward to watching Coronation Street when it was on a Monday and Wednesda but now, I can take it or leave it.

  • @newtroublemaker1973 well 15 million people 4 nights a week cant be wrong, and we would never have got Acorn Antiques with out good old Crossy!

  • t time my mom....the best

  • OMG! How fantastic & fantastically nostalgic!

    Thanks for posting this here.

  • Zounds...you don't get arcting like thartt anymore

  • I love the doctor's purple suit.

I remember when Jill met that guy, he was an electrician and came to do some work at her boutique.

This is classic Crossroads. When the show was at its best.

  • And he said "No Rosemary, it wouldn't be true"

  • I still remember when Rosemary shot David in 1980. I shall never forget it. "David... say you love me... SAY it!!"

  • wonderful to see edward clayton in his finest hour- stan harvey!!!-

  • wonderful to see edward clayton in his finest hour- stan harvey!!!-

  • OMG Wilf Harvey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We only had three channels back then. I would of watched Goats raping each other.

In fact I think that's what was on BBC2, straight after "One Man and his cock"

I never cried off sick from School because if I had to catch another episode of 'Crown Court' I would of drank bleach and be4en done with it. Bleach drinking was big in the 70s.

  • Ethel Skinner was married to Stans dad in the show!It got 18 million viewers a day at its peek!

  • And still has a fan club as big as Emmerdales - and best selling DVDs. Good stuff.

  • Yeah networkdvd has a special section for Xrds on their site and state its a big seller. Also the only soap to hire so many black and asian actors during the 1970s, also launched Crossroads caring for carers, which still runs. So the show did good.

  • I'm sorry I swithched it off after 6mins 13secs just as women says "Stan I need to talk"

    That just fuckin killed me!

8 min 5secs Meg shoves whole bottle of Brown Ale up her twat, because it's "Shove a bottle of Brown Ale up Ya Twat night!"

She comes 2nd to Old Man.

  • 2min 55sec

Man pours drink right up to rim.

I nearly have a seizure, what happens if it spills!

    3mins 00secs

    "The waters gone cold again!"

You mean this shit has happened before? Call Norris McfuckinGwerter! It's unfuckinbelieveable!
