  • @cmmwiz: Uh...Beverly Bivens was 19 years old when "You Were on My Mind" became a hit in 1965. Grace Slick was a few months shy of 27 when "Somebody to Love" became a hit in 1967. You could look it up!

  • My best friend had the 45. Thought the lead singer was pretty old for rock and roll at the time.We were 12. We liked the the younger ones like Michelle Phillips

    and Grace Slick.

  • @funkdelphiarecords: Go see the Moody Blues!

  • Its nice to see an old video of a group who isn't lip singing to their own song.

  • Thank You for sharing this...Man, I just loved this then, and I love it still!! Thanks!!

  • Beverly is too adorable in this clip. Cheers for the upload,

  • I just loving watching to old clips of them performing this song. Lead singer Bev seems to be just genuinely enjoying herself in everyone of them. Her smile is so infectious, her shuffling so fun, her voice so perfect for this song. How I wished they had a few more hits.

  • Thank you so much for the great vids. Wow, an actual live performance of this, I heard they were very good live. Certainly into it!

  • We Five should have been one of the hottest acts of the late sixties, but...it didn't work out that way. The guitarist with glasses is Michael Stewart (deceased), brother of the late John Stewart (Kingston Trio and 50+ solo albums). Bev Bivens, I believe, retired not long after this to have a family. Thanks for the great upload!

  • I love how they feel the music (every single one of them) , look at 1:30-1:45 , its like the climax of the song....everyone totally into it , having a blast

  • This was the first song that Sylvia ever wrote. What an awesome beginning and she`s still writing great songs (as is Ian)

We Five did a nice cover, very different from the original.

  • There's a real drummer in there ChasBeauregarde, a kick ass one. Hey Sixties, this is a real HQ upload. This is the post that should have over 500k views.

  • @promoguy59 It would if I'd uploaded it some 3-4 years ago. Nowadays, it's very difficult getting a lot of views.

  • Nothing bites like a Rickenbacker!

  • Love, love, love, love, love this! I've been covering it, too, lately and may post a version, soon! (But this will always be the best!) :)

  • YOU CAN'T COMPARE THE EXCITEMENT AND GREATNESS OF THIS LIVE PERFORMANCE TO TODAY'S MIND-NUMBING NO-TALENT GARBAGE!

  • How great that they are obviously doing this live in front of a national audience - and they sound fabulous.

  • The appear to be playing live with a drum track, I'd venture to guess. If that's the case it's pretty rare for groups from this time to play live on TV. They sound fantastic if this is live.

  • Yep, she sure is a cutie! How did I not know that for all of these years?

  • This song still makes me happy after all these years:) She's so cute. And love that Rickenbacker guitar sound!

  • ultra great clip

  • I like this video, thanks. I love this music.....long live rock 'and' roll.
