  • Its not a rare opportunity...ruy lopez is one of the most popular openings...

  • rare opportunity. but decent trap

  • Like this 1 t00 much.......

  • dude queens r supposed to be on own colors

  • @ibanezart320 they are... or is that your point?

  • wait i can't believe i missed Qxd6 after Nxd6 check haha must've been very tired :D it works fine, but in order to work your opponent must make the mistake :)

  • take a look at 2:40. white is up a pawn in this position, he can play Nxd6 check, winning another pawn, king comes to d7 (only move) then Nxb5 (another pawn won, which makes a total of 3 pawns won) cxb5 (knight lost) Bxb5 (4 pawns won total) + check and white is down a knight and black is down 4 pawns. which is bad. also black cant castle anymore and his king isnt exactly in a good position. so i strongly suggest you re-evaluate this against stronger opponents.

    this isn't good.

  • @CoMMoN13371337 uhh no lol Nxd6 then queen takes.

LOL you suck at chess :P

  • I agree with @Exkaliki10.. I think it's much better and more aggressive.. Although the winning material is only just about a pawn, after 1.exd5 cxb5, Black still has a good position to attack by putting his Knight to f5.. :)

  • However, you didn't mention that P-Q3 is also the prelude to a Reti game (although I don't know the name of the system.)

    It usually goes 1. P-K4, P-K4; 2. N-KB3, N-Qb3; 3. B-B4, N-KB3; 4. P-Q3, ....

Not an easy system to counter. Too aggressive, one pays quickly...or, too quiet, and White overwhelms the center.

So, 4. .... N-K2 offers to White the added benefit of Black being closed back up, less developed, and behind in developement....

    I mean...

    maybe..., huh?

    just an opinion.

    d=^))

  • I love your videos man you get straight to the point.

  • FLAWED TRAP

  • @firemanhalo there is no such thing as a flawless trap

  • If he plays Ba4 would you suggest taking the knight or the bishop if he's and idiot and doesn't go for smothered mate

  • @GhostWoof Take the knight because if White used their bishop to block the check you put on their king, then the b2 square is open to your queen for taking their rook with no resistance. And if they see that and move their bishop back, then you can move your queen into the checking position again and take their white bishop, haha. :D Hope this helped you.

  • hi. when we defend from the smoothered mate, at 2.17, why dont we push the pawn to d5, this way attacking the knight and the bishop? Yes, he can take it with the pawn on e4, but at leat we get a good square for our d7 knight to go to afterwards, no?

  • i thought king was supposed to be on left side where da queen is?

  • we are looking from black's point of view so it just looks different.

  • @sonylopez131 just always remeber black queen on black space white queen on white space

  • @sonylopez131 easy peasy board and piece configuration.

The board on your side...White square on the right and Queen on her color.

You're hinting at one of the most amazing mistakes STILL MADE by Chess masters all over the world. Usually by move three they figure it out, but are amazed until they do. They start with the board turned 90 degrees from what it's supposed to be.

(on a lessor note, I have "invented" a board which that becomes an impossibility.)

  • you should make a 2nd video of all your stratagys and traps and just show what to do instead of talk because sometimes i forget what u say to do

  • ah very good, I played the berlin in hopes of a fshing pole and this position came up! i didn't know the trap at the time and i will now surely look for it in my berlin defense games.

  • HEY, if you ever need help learning hooka tricks, i'll TOTALLY make tutorial vids for ya man

  • More traps! More traps! Thank you for this great video!

  • That's a nice trap. Will definitely try it if I get the chance :)

  • won't white be suspicious of the free pawn offer?

  • he might, hopefully not

  • @TheW0rldEndsWithMe

These traps and gambits are most useful when playing blitz or even bullet games where you see material and you just take it.

  • Just out of curiosity, what is the average USCF, or FIDE rating of the people at the chess website?

  • 1850

  • First of all: Great vid, as always.

But I do have q question, why do you move your pawn to d6 at 2:15, and not to d5?

  • great question. If we move d5 then we let white move the very powerful e5, attacking our knight on f6. The only place our knight can go is to g8 (if we move to d7 we are mated). Obv we don't want to move our pieces back after we have already developed them. Also keep in mind that after we play Ng1 then he can still come to Nd6 (not checkmate) but now his knight is supported by his pawn. We have to move our king and this is very bad for us. Hopefully this helps.

  • Yeah, thanks a lot! You're the man.

  • ur vids have become fast and too the point and they are very impressive :)

  • thanks! glad you enjoyed!

  • amazing video, your style of teaching chess, surprisingly enough, reminds me of learning Jiu Jitsu :P

  • i wish i knew jiu jitsu, that'd be awesome.

  • a fast vid

  • 1ST COMMENT AGAIN WOOO lol

  • haha always fun when i see you have commented.

  • Sweet, thnx man! aww, why do i have 3 thumbs down? lol

  • @StackynUpRice just a guess...

somebody was jealous of your "first" position?

    (not like ballet, mind you)

(OK, Not that there's anything WRONG with ballet, either.)

    (Even men can do ballet...)

Well, not that there's anything wrong about women doing ballet. I'm no Shakespeare fan. Girls are fun.

    (not as playthings, though...)

(Not that there's anything wrong with Shakespeare, mind you...)
