Believe me. The LP Studio Robot is a great, great guitar. Think your budget. Both are great, but with the Robot you can choose many different tunnings... and automatic!!!
Really, both are the same guitar, the only difference is the finition. The Standard LP has a cream binding body but both uses the 490R/498T pickups. Practically both models are the same in sound. But the Robot has the system to automatic tune the guitar.
Is true, the sound is the same. Same wood, same construction and same humbuckers. The only difference is the finition. I have other Studio without the system for tunning and really it sounds great. I heve a custom LP too and the sound is totally different. You can see it in my other video.
