That whole place needs to be remodel. The mens lockerroom is nasty. The employees are lazy, as soon as I found another gym with a pool, I am out of that hell whole.

And it's now LA fitness. Which is also lame. The one on the pike is a STD factory. The ones at Wheaton and Kentlands is as gross !!!

@Molego2011 Yep, and I continue to call it Bally by accident, lol. I definitely don't care for the Wheaton showers. Kentlands I've always found the cleanest and still do, but they have definitely cut down on the cleaning staff compared to 4yrs ago to both of these. Keep pumping though :-)

For the people that say it's not bad as it used to, go check out Fitness First up the street and you'll see what are real Gym is supposed to look like and guess what? I only pay $19/month for membership there.... Does anyone know if Ballys is still on the verge of Bankruptcy?

they took out the shower curtains and have someone always spraying down the floor in the locker room. its not as bad as it used to be but there is still a lot of room for improvement

Not sure when this video was taken or if was the men's/women's. If it's the men's, then the locker room has been redone. It still seems like a dungeon to me, but they removed the shower curtains and it's an 8 shower stall room now. The whole place definitely needs a COMPLETE overhaul, but the showers aren't completely disgusting. I wear flipflops in any public shower I go into no matter how clean. But I don't expect much more for the $250/year I pay. I pay little, so expect little.

The mildew Bally's video was taken 08-04-08 in the women's shower area. That Bally's has been around at minimum 1982 if not before. You're right...it DOES seem like a dungeon. Definitely needs a major upgrade. They get dues from members, why not use the dues for an upgrade and have them feel like coming back!!!

The facilities would have to be designed to remain clean. I think they wold be better off to have shower doors which could be cleaned better than curtains.

What should we expect for $99.00 a month? I used to pay out $60.00 a month at a ballys in San Diego CA 14 years ago.

Tell em to get shower doors and pay people who care enough to keep the place up to par.

Get a membership to a real gym.

well now they have no shower curtains but still you are correct in saying that bally's is raunchy. they fired all the illegal aliens recently and now it is even worse. They also got rid of a lifegaurd i hated but little did i know that she was the only one who kept the pool water nice. I got some in my mouth the other day and it tasted like dirty dishwater.

I bought a membership here a while ago and then I noticed that I would get rashes on my arms if I worked out on certain pieces of equipment. It's just as bad as riding the Metro or Ride On buses...same thing...bad smells stick to your clothes and you develop rashes that last for like three weeks.
