Everything in creation goes through cycles. This includes Mother Earth. Could we have stopped the Ice Age, the eruption that destroyed Pompeii, the tectonic shifts that created the mountains? Only a very small part of greenhouse gases are the result of engine combustion. Only a minute portion of co2 emission is man related. The activity of the sun has more to do with global warming than anything we can alter from here on earth. So, until we figure out how to control the sun, we only cause inflation and weaken our economy by enforcing regulations that are impotent in affecting global warming change.

The only reason why I question how much man is causing global warming is because of the Earth's changing climate. Over the 4.6 billion years of Earth's history there have been 4 ice ages and countless mini ice ages (ie. Europe in the 1500s) Are we to say that the ice melted because of man made global warming 10,000 years ago? The point is we don't know But we do know that the sun goes through cycles just like our climate. So,take care of the Earth and yes I have read Brave New World. :)

Yes, the Earth has gone through cycles, but this heat increase started around WWII, when the world started a 2nd Industrial Revolution. There have been many more storms since then, and the hottest years on record have been broken in the past 20 or however many years. This could be a cycle, but the timing suggests otherwise.
I agree that we need to look at everything. The problem I have is that in the 1970s the media and scientists were reporting global cooling, in the 1950s it was warming, in the 1930s it was cooling (take away 1938 which remains the hottest year on record in the US) and in 1890 it was global warming again. What it comes down to is lets not tax people to death on the carbon they produce and make crazy laws (IE Cali. regulating temps. in houses) just to maybe stop something that could be natural.

dems dont understand that there is a 12 year cycle of heating and cooling. also there is THE SEASONS. the caps melt in their summers. there is also fluxuations that may happen every few hundred years. There is no true solid proof the human caused global warming is happening.

Explain why the "Consensus view" has gone from 2200 scientists signed on to it, down to less then 900 at last count, and the fact the those scientist that are saying it is likely not human caused, if it is happening at all make next to nothing from their views, but all the ones that say it is happening are making a ment off of government grants. While they keep changing the date as which they will be proven right. The IPCC has now said we will COOL for about 15 years, first then warm forever.

Only a very small part of greenhouse gases are the result of engine combustion. Only a minute portion of co2 emission is man related. The activity of the sun has more to do with global warming than anything we can alter from here on earth. So, until we figure out how to control the sun, we only cause inflation and weaken our economy by enforcing regulations that are impotent in affecting global warming change.

Worldwide there was a significant natural warming trend in the 1980's and 1990's as a Solar cycle peaked with lots of sunspots and solar flares. That ended in 1998 and now the Sun has gone quiet with fewer and fewer Sun spots, and the global temperatures have gone into decline. Earth has cooled for almost ten straight years. So, I ask Al Gore, where's the global warming?

There is no significant man made global warming. There has not been any in the past, there is none now and there is no reason to fear any in the future. The climate of Earth is changing. It has always changed. But mankind's activities have not overwhelmed or significantly modified the natural forces.

Stop breathing - When you exhale you release carbon dioxide
Dont drive - We all know how bad driving is
Don't live in a house/apartment/condo or any building that uses gas or electricity - Homes produce 2-3 times as much carbon as cars.
Don't wear shoes or any sort of clothing produced in a factory. Grow a cotton field and make your own clothes by hand.

Do you know that the volcano that erupted in Chile put more pollution the air then all the cars have for the past 100 years? We have little or no effect on the climate. Plus our planet has gone throughout periods and cooling for its entire life time. Was the ice age cause by us because of our pollution? There is no evidence for global warming. In fact April ws the coldest month in years.

The only reason why I question how much man is causing global warming is because of the Earth's changing climate. Over the 4.6 billion years of Earth's history there have been 4 ice ages and countless mini ice ages (ie. Europe in the 1500s) Are we to say that the ice melted because of man made global warming 10,000 years ago? The point is we don't know But we do know that the sun goes through cycles just like our climate. So,take care of the Earth and yes I have read Brave New World. :)

You make the same point as many others who question "man-made" Global Warming, but at least you're a lot nicer about it. The difference now is that we are so industrialized. Yes, the Earth has gone through cycles, but this heat increase started around WWII, when the world started a 2nd Industrial Revolution. There have been many more storms since then, and the hottest years on record have been broken in the past 20 or however many years. This could be a cycle, but the timing suggests otherwise.

I agree that we need to look at everything. The problem I have is that in the 1970s the media and scientists were reporting global cooling, in the 1950s it was warming, in the 1930s it was cooling (take away 1938 which remains the hottest year on record in the US) and in 1890 it was global warming again. What it comes down to is lets not tax people to death on the carbon they produce and make crazy laws (IE Cali. regulating temps. in houses) just to maybe stop something that could be natural.

casmbspws, the oceans are cooling down because the arctic and antarcic ice is melting causing the sea temperature change. A direct effect of this is a growing season of tornados crossing the US. In just a couple of years hardly no one might remember Kathrina because there were so much other horrible weather phenomens following.

-not true, Tom. You can't have it both ways, saying temps are getting both warmer and cooler. Studies of the Anarctic Ice sheet show that it's growing. Furthermore, we just went through one of the coldest winters on record. AGW (Anthropogenic)proponents have predicted steadily rising temps, and yet it snowed in Baghdad, for the first time in over a hundred years.

The earth formed it's atmosphere because of many different elements burning like hot lava, it put off ALOT of smoke , wich blocked the suns energy and allowed the earths crust to cool forming the solid ground you stand on! Looks like to me we need to light a couple of fires! in years past there were no huge helicopters to drop water on fires caused by lightening , it would burn the entire forest CREATING SMOG AND BLOCKING THE SUN , The earth will keep getting hotter to try and make fires!
