  • Thank you for this, reposting this for Remembrance Day

  • my greast grandfather fought in this war and survived he was an anti aircraft gunner though he got sick from oil being on his hnds

  • Pretty much everyones dad or grandfather was in world war 2 in canada, unless you were born in like 95 or something then your grandparents were hippies.

  • As was said by a great man.....the ultimate army would be Canadian soldiers....German officers...and American equipment!

  • Great video Thank you!

  • I'm watching the Military Channel right now about the Canadian M4 Sherman tanks fighting Germans. I never knew how many Canadians actually fought in Europe. Just wanted to say thank you.

  • @satanicmechanic86 You are welcome...its a blessing to see that some Americans are starting to wake up......and see beyond thier own borders!

  • RIP Heroes

  • May God Bless all of our Commonwealth brothers and sisters who fought and died for freedom. I visited Ypres recently and was struck by the number of names from Canada, Newfoundland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India and of course the UK on the war memorials. As our war dead lay side by side forever, let us stand together in the new century!

  • this is truly amazing! where dit you get all this video footage???

  • What is the song at 3:20? i know it's on a war film but i can't place it.

  • One day the piper came down the Glen Sweet and long and low played he! The children followed from door to door, No matter how those who loved might implore, So wiling the song of his melody As the song of a woodland rill. Some day the Piper will come again To pipe the sons of the maple tree! You and I will follow from door to door, Many of us will come back no more What matter that if Freedom still Be the crown of each native hill? Sgt. Mackenzie reminded me of that.... Great vid, thanks.
  • Christ. Pause at 1:07 - That's what the Canadians had to fight through from October 1944 - April 1945 in Holland and Western Germany. Pretty much constantly without any dry soil even to be seen while subsiding on mainly wet biscuits and cold moldy meat.

How the human frame stood up will never be known.

  • What's the song at 4:00?

  • Im from iTaly and wanna give all the honor and say thankx at all canadian soldier who had fought and died for freedom for my nation..and give me a hope in future!!! thankx heroes!!!!

  • My father served with Elgin Regiment, met & married my mother in England before shipping out to Europe.I know if he were alive today,he would thank you for this & shed a tear in rememberance to his falling brothers.

    Thank you for this!.

    Sincerely

  • thank you and god bless!!!!

  • Sadly, Canadian politicians, and some uneducated people, think Canada is internationally remembered for going around with band-aids. Sadly, you don't free people from fascism, nazism, and imperialism through "peace-keeping".

'Tis a shame the ignorance of our country Canada now is embarrassing. Not saying it was good we had to go to war, but appeasement wasn't going to shit all to the Axis.

  • @Arkethot you are right, that aid shit is all Canadians are known for now. Canadian troops were straight killers in WWI and WWII, Germans shit themselves when they heard Canadians were coming, and our special forces pwn all these so called elite units now. Let them think we are nice little medics. The world is going 2 shit anyway.

  • @Arkethot Well said.

  • as a new member of the Canadian Forces I say thank you for this amazing video, wish me luck

  • Thanks for liberating Holland!!!!!!!!

  • Your Deaths Will Not Go Forgotten But As A Sign Of Courage And Bravery Thank You to All That Were Lost, We Salute You

  • It seems so long ago now but they are all heroes and we will not forget them, the 25th of April is ANZAC Day here in Australia and we always remember all of the Commonwealth Forces with the utmost of respect..

    They shall not grow old,

As we that are left grow old.

    Age shall not weary them,

    Nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun,

    And in the morning,

    We will remember them.

    We will remember them.

    LEST WE FORGET

  • kind words my friend, lest we forget

  • My Ancestors left Scotland during " The Clearances ' in the 1800's, one Brother took his family to Canada and the other came and settled in Tasmania, Australia, over the last 12/15 years we have been able to find our Canadian "cousins" and thanks to the Internet are able to keep in contact and fill in a lot more of the Family history, I am always listening to the CBC as they were a great help, stay safe friend, Big Rabbie.
