The thing i still find amazing about this is that it was composed by freddie, who really wasnt that stellar of a guitar player (and he did admit that)
It was a trademark of Freddie's. One time in the early '70s, Freddie tried to hoist the mic over his head and the bottom plate fell out. So, from then on, he just kept the bottom off
no..i mean that sometimes u couldnt hear him..hes trade mark begins when around early shows he tried to lift hes mic stand and the stand was broken and all he got left in hes hand is this pole.. but gg trying to be smart
actually, his main roadie said in an interview that when they were practising (early on) that he moved around with the plate on the bottom and one day it fell off, Freddie found he liked it more so it stuck.
warts and all, this concert is far superior to Milton Keynes or Wembley. Why hasn't this been officially released? I'm sure the majority of us Queen fans would fall over ourselves getting a copy. The fact that Queen perform so many songs here that they haven't done since is the only incentive we need to buy it!
I have to agree one of Queens best tracks of the best album Queen 2, this is the best live version ive heard fantastic stuff. Queen at best John, Brian, Roger and Freddie couldnt get any better them.
Incredibly rare video clip...a very hard song to pull it off on live stage...congratulations thunderstruck8780...great material on the best EVER band in history...QUEEN!!!
Wow, this is really amazing... *thunderstruck* I mean, Freddie, he mastered like, what, seven genres of music or something, and all perfectly, while most musicians specialize on one genre and get a mediochre resault. Freddie was a true genious! Haven't heard this song before, and it's a masterpiece.
i know that there are alotof bad bands and music today but there good ones you have to search for them.i serch and i found tilly and the wall and artic monkeys
Haha, most people can't agree over the genre of this song. I call it progressive metal, many others call it pop... Well, in my opinion it is still the best song ever.
Queen are my favourite band, this show is their best, and this is my favourite part of the show. That's when we get to see THE costume for the first time. OMG, I want the same one for my wedding!
one of my top tunes. I saw them in high school on Night at The Opera tour, Detroit's Masonic Temple. Opened with Bohemian Rhapsody and then this. I was in the fifth row. Bloody Amazing...
YES!! I AGREE!! im 14 an have loved Queen my whole life. and Queen II is bloody amazing. Ogre Battle is my all time fave Queen song. its bloody amazing music! i think we have about 5 copies of it on vinyl and 2 on cd... haha
I think that they still made good music in the '80s, but their ratio of shit was much higher. I strongly dislike The Game, Flash Gordon and Hot Space. The Works is really good actually, but some songs sucks. A Kind of Magic got some great stuff, but alot of crap. The Miracle is 50/50 awesome/shit. Innuendo is in all ways really good. Made in Heaven is not so good... All of the albums during the '70s kicks ass.
I quite agree. The Queen II / Sheer heart attack / NATO period has been their best by far. Provocative, grandiloquent, unique... A little less good untill Jazz, and then Freddie began to forsake his piano too much, and their music lost of its panache and personality. But they never lost a single bit of their power on stage, even with the mustache!
oh my goodness my fav album is queenII ok, but how can you don't appreciate songls like "prophet song" and news of the world..."spread your wings" "it's late" jazz "jealousy" "don't stop me now"...i don't have enough space here to mention all even bcs i'll have to mention all...i repeat my fav is queenII but i love em all...the most sucky? flash gordon..ok it's a soundtrack with only 2 singed..then the suckiest award goes to hot space...still the best band EVER don't touch queen plz
Who says I didn't? The songs you mentioned are really great, but I'm just thinking of some of the not so great songs. "Who Needs You?" "Dreamers Ball"? Not very powerful songs.
If you look for powerful songs then those really might not be the best. But every album from then has at least a couple of powerful tunes. A kind of magic has gimme the prize (although Freddie himself said he disliked the song) and One vision. Those are really powerful songs. If you only listen to those songs that became great hits your missing out on something really good. As for the less powerful songs. Times change, the band goes in a new direction but they still stay true to their roots...
This is one of my favorite Queen songs. I gotta agree with slutband, they put out a lot of good records, then The Game came out and so began an onslaught of crap. But this is absolutely awesome. Queen at their best.
One of my favorite songs done live by QUEEN....

OMG! Around 2:00 or so, did John lick his fingers then lick the bass? Juan Crucier from Ratt copied that move?

Yeah, but the sudden tempo changes and tons of wierd effects (in the studio version) kind of makes it sound a bit progressive...

Still my favourite band though.
