Nice sound.. but in the larry fine book its in the last category like all chinese pianos.. very strong bass... nice playing.. good for pop and jazz.. what abt classical music.. how do you rate it against esssex or pearl river or Palatino?
@resultant64 In one of Larry Fine's supplements, forget which year-sorry, he put this Hailun in the top category of Chinese built pianos. He said that he was being cautious because the makers didn't have a long enough track record to be certain of the products.
Pearl River builds Essex to Steinway's specifications. I've played a half dozen of them and just can't get thrilled about their tone, which seems muffled to me. Perhaps they needed some prepping... Haven't played Palatino.
Ok... that's a point.. i've decided to go to Singapore and check for myself.... I like the sound...

Are all of these Hailun pianos hand made? I mean all the sizes, starting from the 5-foot ones?
