  • has a very fast overall stopping distance

  • Wow. Finally, Boeing dared to give it's planes' fuselages stg worth to be called "shape".

  • You've got to give it to Airbus though...they make great aircraft.

  • @x0lamborghini0x why would anyone watching a brand new Boeing aircraft, 'give it to' an Airbus. how arrogant is that!! personaly i cant wait to fly in a 787. hopefully Qantas buys less A380s, and more 787's...

  • @x0lamborghini0x why would anyone watching a brand new Boeing aircraft, 'give it to' an Airbus. how arrogant is that!! personally i cant wait to fly in a 787. hopefully Qantas buys less A380s, and more 787's...

  • 9 people like Airbus and are "retard, retard, retard..."

  • could someone pls tell me what the big deal is with this plane. im not being funny or looking for an argument but it doesnt look very big, its nothing compared to the a380. whats the big thing about this plane

  • @MrRapidScope fuel efficient, better technology, it's not supposed to be big

  • Now that we've seen how fast the plane decelerates on landing, I wonder if it can lift-off at a short distance as well. Great vid.

  • Its stops fast as fuck

  • this will be the last rollout color for boeing... because they have a new rollout color

pink, orange! if u watch the 747-8i opening here on youtube u can see the new rollout colors!

  • I went to the Farnborough Air Show expecting to see the 787 but it was only there for the trade days. Was very disappointed!

  • Wow what a quick landing. The reverse thrusters were barely even on! Beautiful aircraft

  • Cause of delay? Boeing found out later that if they want lightning protection for the most POWERFUL strikes they had to add so much metal, it became almost as heavy as an all metal plane. They did a compromise and asked the FAA to lower the lightning safety standards for the fuel tank. A really super powerful lightning strike would be so rare I think they figured it's cheaper to just pay for a few extra plane crashes than increase the fuel consumption if more protective metal was added.

  • that was the fastest landing i have ever seen!

  • wew this plane is so pro, stoped so fucking fast and used the reverse thrust for like 5 seconds? lol

  • @ararapoly well , maybe it stopped so fast because it was unloaded no passengers or cargo/luggage. Most of the planes can stop quite fast if they are almost empty. But, seeing this plane perform a landing so well, I would risk saying that it may be able to land on almost every airport in the word.

  • @HudsonM1A2 yea i know it had no cargo but i mean it stopped in like what 200 meters? lol, normal runways got around 1 kilometer

its amazing how this planes have so many power to takeoff and land. My favorite plane is the 757, not so heavy big engines and takeoffs fucking fast

  • @ararapoly This plane is a test aircraft and a empty hull.

  • This plane makes the a380 a fat lady..... As for me, I don't really like hub-hub flying... I prefer the more direct approach..

  • Its probably having low mass, no heavy payload, no passangers and little fuel means less then normal kinetic energy which can be stopped effectively by hard braking reverse thrusting. I think other planes can do the same when they are lightly loaded..

  • It's been delayed again... I wonder how long until Boeing cancels the whole thing altogether?

  • @TheMarkOfTheBeast1 it will go into service when ready! no chance of it being cancelled, they're already building them and expanding production facilities, too.

  • Everyone,it landed so quick probably because of stronger autobrakes,if im wrong, the reverse thrust is wayy stronger or both.

  • it seems so quiet!!!

  • holy crap that could land on a small airfeild

  • ---Concorde's Successor---

    The Future of Flight...

    See channel for info...

  • @ guitarplayerforu : flying is still by far the safest way to fly. Agree much it is certainly the safest way.

  • What a sound, when it took off and did a pass with two spitfires you could hear more of the spitfires than the dreamliner good on yer RR

  • That is one beautiful bird, and what a tight short landing. If it ain't a Boeing, I ain't going.

  • What a short landing. Very easy for this new babe: the Dreamliner.

  • wow

  • Wow! what a fast landing!!

  • What a lovely graceful plane compared to that fat moronic Airbus A380. BOEING RULES!

  • Thats a little girls airplane!!

  • Fuck Airbus, BOEING IS THE BEST

  • @AVIATIO Right on!

  • I see these already almost daily here. I live in washington and they fly over my house when they are on base about to turn final. Its a beauty to see.

  • I know the 787 and A380 aren't competing head on, but the 787 still puts it to shame

  • Wait till that plastic body plane passes through a lightning bolt with people in it.

  • @vidistudi it already did during FT. No issues.

  • plastic is non conductive dipshit, and it isn't made from plastic.

  • @vidistudi it's not plastic actually, its carbon fibre which is stronger than aluminium and steel like all current conventional airplanes flying and the a380 uses no composites so that uses conventional materials what are more heavy and less effective! carbon fibre is virtually impossible to break its that strong, and thats why F1 cars use it for the inside's and thats why so many f1 driver why have high speed crashes survive! BOEING 787 BUILT OF 66% CARBON FIBRE FOR ME TO FLY ON ANY DAY!

  • from this video it seems to take 13 seconds to stop. An A380 seems to take 23 seconds to stop. 787 is not as big as a A380 but uses much less fuel.

  • @oreoweb6 THE 787 WILL USE MUCH LESS FUEL, IT HAS THE MOST TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED ROLLS- ROYCE TRENT 1000 ENGINE OR GENX-2B'S. PLUS IT'S MADE OF 66% CARBON FIBRE COMPOSITE'S. 787 BETTER PLANE ALL OVER, A380 = OLDER TECHNOLOGY FROM EARLIER PLANES SUCH AS 747-400!

  • the A380 can never beat the 787 on decelerating AND accelerating of course!

  • @ToInfinity1

duh but it can carry like 400 more passengers

  • GOGOGOGOGO BOEING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The A380 and 787 are enemies at 0:57 :P

  • There is also a lot more European airlines at Farnborough.

  • Holy crap that thing stopped fast. Kudos boeing, no need for longer runways now :P

  • @BeanerIsland thats the whole idea of the 787 dreamliner, maximum comfort, quality, efficiency, and be able to land on very short runways at small airports as well as international airports!

  • I've never seen a more beautiful landing than that,.no modern plane can match the dreamliner,.Airbus sucks,.

  • It flew over Derby (rolls royce) very low yesterday... it looked amazing

  • the speed that aircraft decelerates at is outstanding, boeing have defo designed a beautiful aircraft

  • why has it only got two engines?

  • @xSCB10, cuz they're trent 1000 engines... basically sum of the most powerful engines u can get for commercial use

  • have you checked fuel prices lately ?

  • @xSCB10 COS IT'S ULTRA LIGHT COS BUILT OF 66% CARBON FIBRE AND COS OF ITS ROLLS ROYCE TRENT 1000 2 TRENT 1000'S= POWER OF 4 OF TRENT 800. THE DREAMLINER IS SO REVOLUTIONARY AND NO AIRCRAFT WILL BEAT IT, I DON'T CARE WAT ANYONE SAY'S!

  • going here on sunday =D

  • This is NOT a new 767 the 787-8 is a completely new plane designed from the ground up, It will out perform any of the Airbuses currently on the market on bang for buck basis. Go Boeing!

  • Boeing > Airbus.

  • ES!youtube.com/watch?v=_v6lKZpKy9E

  • BOEING 787 - is a bright-boy!!! )))

  • God forbid this one crashes too-airbus makes planes that are meant to fly and stay in the air-not give you an unexpected death

  • @teta809 thats were your wrong, cos thanks to airbus's fly by wire system it's cause 100's of airbus planes to crash, oooohhh yeah crash, ultimately deaths too! boeing's are safer planes by far and you can do dangerous things if u have to in an emergency in a boeing where the computer wouldn't let you in airbus's so u'd crash!

  • @guitarplayerforu you could mention all you want about how many airbus planes crashed but so many Boeing planes crashed that you wonder if flying is truly the safest way to travel.

  • @teta809 flying is still by far the safest way to fly, look at how may commericial jet's both boeing and airbus crash to the number of crashed on roads and interstates, i want to be a pilot so badly, its always been my dream and what to learn to fly one day! put it one way, if i had a choice of going flying or spending a night on the motorway or interstate as its know as in usa, i'd choose flying anytime! that's how safe flying is! i was just saying that fly by wire has cause some airbs's crash

  • @guitarplayerforu I couldn't agree more

  • airbus is better

  • @matchbox555 you wish

  • how is this air plane?

  • What exactly am I supposed to be looking at here that's so special?

  • @JimboVids It's basicaly a Boeing 767 made out of plastic with fancy wingtips, so basically nothing. It's claim to fame is a higher cabin pressure (most airbusses have that anyway) larger windows, made out of composites (most airbuses have that too) and high efficiecy (to compete with airbus's A-330) which is only aceived by the Rolls Royce engines.

Airbus's A-350 XWB will be 8% more efficient and much larger than the 787

  • @05u16hep IT'S NOT A 767 I REPEAT NOT A 767, THE 787 DREAMLINER IS A COMPLETELY NEW AIRCRAFT BOEING HAVE BEEN INVESTING IN FOR GOD KNOWS HOW MANY YEARS AND DOING LOTS OF RESEARCH, THE FUSELAGE IS 66% CARBON FIBRE COMPOSITE(WAT NO CURRENT AIRBUS'S HAVE) COMPLETELY NEW WINGS(WHAT NO AIRBUS HAVE CURRENTLY) LOWER CABIN PRESSURE(NO AIRBUS HAS THIS YET) ITS GOT ITS ALL NEW ELECTRIC WINDOWS DESIGNED AND PIONEERED BY BOEING, ALL NEW LED LIGHTING WHAT CHANGES WITH THE TIME AT DESTINATION, TRENT 1000'S

  • @JimboVids the completely brand new revolutionary airplane from Boeing - 787 dreamliner, all the new technology like its made from 66% carbon fibre composite's. it'll beat any Airbus any day!

  • I think the A330, A350 look better ;)

  • now we just have to load it with politicians, lawyers, rapists & murderers and see how fast it UNLOADS over the ocean @ 30,000 ft :P

  • There's something about the sight of something sleek and streamlined, with two big round objects attached to it... ;-)

  • Unbelievable landing!!!

  • So will Ryanair and others switch to the Dreamliner from 737s? That will be the goal for this aircraft don't you think?

  • @doive1231 I dont think so, This aircraft has a high range but is mid size so I think its intention is connecting citites that a far apart that doesnt require the capacity of larger aircraft like the 777 or 747. All the new cabin features appear to be be benificial to long haul passengers, Ryanair is short haul and budget minded so it will stick with the good old 737 for quite a while at least.

  • VVOVV !!! I'm shocked

  • wow reminds me a bit of an A330. looking forward to flying on one.

  • @thekorksta me too, i can't wait to go on one, it doesn't remind me of any of the older planes tho.

  • Remarkable airliner! - I can't wait to book my first flight on it! The Boeing 787 will set the new standard for passenger airliners all over the world. Airlines will rush to replace their old tech inefficient aircraft with the most modern, most comfortable and the most efficient airliner in the world – the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Congratulations Boeing for achieving a major and most significant aviation milestone!

  • The Aircraft design looks like a plane from the pre-cold war era. Especially the front. There is nothing futuristic about it except the interior.

  • @RobertsDigital yeah, is it's called it's a completely new aircraft that Boeing have researched and pioneered for many years and it's made of 66% carbon fibre which wasn't even around then.

  • She stops on a dime..... Whats is the appoach speed , do we know ???

  • sooo.... is there supposed to be a difference? Horrible news reporting...

  • 777 is better looking...This one is just plane ugly with cool interiors...

  • @RobertsDigital most people don't fly on an airliner because of its looks.

  • @peavyt15 yes unfortunately but we need better aircraft designers to design our planes these days. Just look at the F35 lightining multirole fighter It's design looked simply horrible compared to the F22. It looks very bulky which makes it less agile in combat. We need cool aircraft designer who will come up with better cool looking aircraft designs. Just look at the 787 it looks ugly compared to the 777 which i would say looks elegant. The only good thing i like about it is the interiors..

  • @RobertsDigital Good point. The 787 is a bit bland from the outside. And I agree that the F35 is one ugly fighter.

  • @RobertsDigital that wingflex is sexy

  • Those GE Turbofans are gorgeous.

  • @CurtHowland those are the rolls royce

  • @boeingfan882 Bah, just goes to show I'm no aircraft engineer. Thanks.

  • plane

  • 'RussiaToday'? Bloody hell. Who let the Ruski's into the UK?

Time to get in the bunkers chaps. Batten down the hatches. Flaps down. Pip pip.

  • @CaptainUpube time for you to get back into your bunker. and stay there.

  • sleek....

they'll sell em by the bucket load..

  • So...what's the fuzz about?

  • This plane is groundbreaking in its technology butt brains!

  • @apocolypse1022 totally agree

  • Lol it uses DreamWorks-inspired logo.

  • I counted 13 seconds from touch down to damn near a full stop, WAY TO GO BOEING!

  • @bbundridge empty

  • @bbundridge errr sorry to burst your bubble but thats becuase the plane was unladen and with no passengers.

  • @dikkydoo1 Oh I know its empty. I've seen plenty of the landings at Boeing Field (I don't live too far from there)

You never can tell how short of a landing distance they do from any of the vantage points at KBFI.

  • THE b787 is great!

  • Nice

  • What a shame the airline industry is on it knees

  • I had a bag label information from this aircraft was shopping in SEA

  • look at the wings on that plane, this thing must be able almost float at very little thrust haha.

  • holy shit, it decelerates really fast and it only used like a second of reverse thrust. i guess it's very well designed and has a very low approach speed.

  • @Yperanthropoidsx or it could be that there is still much interior to be put in. Also there is 300 passengers that arent there, and their baggage and all the food and other crap, which adds a lot of weight. You gotta remember, empty planes fly differently, have u ever seen a plane empty of passengers take off? It goes reallllyy steep up.

  • I probably won't ever be flying this due to the sky rocketing prices to fly. But this plane looks awesome.

  • The sectional-composite construction is whats nice about this Jet...and the great RR engines of course. Its amazing how many little douche-bay-trolls comment on anything they can to get attention.Sad little trolls with no life...we should start a charity. : (

  • Only 107 years ago humans achieved powered flight , this is not boring at all, it's amazing is what it is

  • There is nothing new about this plane. It looks as boring as every other plane they make today - the same shape. Now, if it could flap it's wings like a bird, then that will be revolutionary.

  • That's smart, if your not an aviation enthusiast then why bother watching the video and leaving a negative random comment if you search for something you find boring; have some savvy, you'd never catch me doing that. And those are Rolls Royce Engines, something for us Brits to be proud of. Shame I can't go this year, I was there in 06 and 08 just to see the A380 really, but the 787 is also worth seeing.

  • @JS1200RULES i totally agree with you! why do people bother if there not even aviation enthusiasts! i'm an aviation enthusiast and have been from about age of 6 or 7 and now am 19! this is such an amazing plane and i can't wait to fly on one. 787 will out do any airbus.

  • US aviation technology rules again.

  • @mattlewis66 British engines mate. And after the consecutive first flight delays, "rules" is an odd way to describe it. But I'd be very happy to see it at my local airport when I go plane-spotting.

  • @JS1200RULES Even better for this posting crowd:

    Anglo-American Technology Rules!

  • @mattlewis66 Hey thanks for the nice attitude, it's a great plane despite what the haters say. The A380 and 787 are not in competition, the A380 will compete with the Boeing 747-8, the Boeing 787 will compete with the A350. Strange how each company is ahead in one aircraft market, while the other trails behind. The only reason I watch these videos is because those airliners are the height of aviation technology, they are special. But Concorde shall forever be my favourite, it's too phenomenal.

  • @mattlewis66 ermmmm ever heard of Rolls Royce, not saying US aviation technology is bad just give them some credit thought!

  • @infernoz100 rolls royce engines are fantastic and i'm british

  • @mattlewis66 It is BRITISH JET ENGINES that get that piece of metal of the ground!!! XD

  • @ThatKidKnows Yes. My mistake. I have corrected on an earlier post. Long live Rolls Royce!

  • what am i missing here? looks like an average plane to me.

  • It's still a boring it can only do a to b

  • that pilot looked likeJFK

  • Not to be offensive, but those of you that think it's boring clearly don't know much about aviation or the aircraft itself.

  • @TheMrMyself

Your being offensive by implying that others who watch this have no concept of aviation.! Its a plane with engines, wings a body and tail. Big deal.

  • @TheReallitycheck So that's all there is to aviation? He obviously wouldn't posted the video if he didn't have a reason to. This is an aircraft that has been anticipated and delayed for years. It's finally built and under testing, and it's nice to actually see it built and not just an idea.

  • @TheMrMyself

Oh yeah, we have all been nail biteing since they mentioned they were going to build it in anticapation of seeing it come full circle. Now let see them do it without any subsidies. Pls its a plane thats all.

  • @TheReallitycheck Thank you for proving my point. You don't know about it so you don't care about it. Some people like me are really interested in aviation and this is exciting for us. I didn't say you have to like it. Just don't comment on it if you don't know much about it. If people don't care; 1. Don't watch the video, and 2. You don't need to comment on it just to cause some trouble. I wasn't even talking to you in the first place anyway.

  • @TheMrMyself i've been into aviation since i was just 5 years old and am now 19 years old. i know a fair bit about the dreamliner cos i've been following the progaramme since it started and watching the progress online, cos i'm from the uk and watching the live webstream when she did her first flight, wow was so exiting! i was really happy to see this vid of it arriving safely in the uk. and like you said for us aviation enthusiasts who know a lot about aircraft , it's very exiting to c nw plane

  • @TheReallitycheck unbelieable, if u don't care about planes, like TheMrMyself said don't bother watching it!

  • @TheMrMyself i tottally agree with you on that, i'm so exited it unreal, i can't wait to see it at Manchester airport uk and to actually fly on one! amazing aircraft no airbus wiil ever beat it! all newer airplanes will be built on the shape of the dreamliner, like the a350, if it's ever released!

  • I think that airplane is cool, I honestly did'nt think that we still build things in the United States. Awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • @ZedAlfa273 united states built planes and sum us cars are the best and i'm British

  • most boring plane ever

  • @Paganiproductions its not boring, did you notice the size of the engines, they're bigger than my dick

  • @moneyman10k lol how do you mess size? in "dick size"? hahahaha

  • @moneyman10k

Not as big as mine... and dont have the same amount of thrust i have either

  • OMG...i almost fell asleep looking at this thing. Why is it making news? What makes it better than a normal 747?

  • I heard it has crumple zones to prevent it from penetrating skyscrapers.

  • Oh my God !! Is that a plane?

  • @gringodeltoro1 there's nothing special in it, new aircraft with new technologies but the same basic idea since the 707

  • @polecat987 I was being sarcastic but I guess it didn't come out that way...

  • nothing dreamy about this

  • That new lighterweight chassis and those beautiful engines are just lovely to the sight.

  • @FreedomForMankind Sounds cool to me...

  • Nice coverage and what a fast video response :).

It's nice to see the A380 is their also, I might pop down on the 24th to check it out.

  • Modern day Brits are cool people. They dress so nice too, and their women are BANGING!

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles Why do you bring that up?

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles You need to open your eyes!
