The fact that instead of trying to transfer a thin, printed sheet onto a cake, you can print directly on it. Also, custom designs on cookies and other foodstuffs can be done MUCH more easily, and with less errors.
Yes, but this was the first time that such a machine was built entirely from the ground up for this purpose, and not by rebuilding an existing printer.
