No, its not an effect - it's a synth with a soundbank. Runs on Windows - VST. No Mac version, yet :-(

I just had to buy this! Raw sounds and an hypnotic interface.

For 'an average monosynth' this little VST makes some awesome sounds (I've often used the DR1 over my $1200 Moog).

Adding loads more oscillators would clutter the interface and hog CPU resources... Not really needed for bass / electro sounds (which the DR1 does really well - and way better than you'd expect for a 10 Euro price-tag).

This is kind of a lame approach to the drone.

It should be piles of tightly tunable oscillators and BP filters. This looks like an average monosynth.
