l'ultimo di questi istituti era ancora aperto nel 1996 e ho letto che non sono stati chiusi per qualche scandalo,solo perchè le persone compravano le lavatrici!!!

Se guardate tutto il film,fanno vedere come questi istituti collaboravano con delle ditte che portavano Tonnellate di vestiti che queste ragazze dovevano lavare per 10h al giorno e tutto il denaro era trattenuto dalle suore...ma con le lavatrici l'Affare era finito.

Se non era per quello,tutto questo continuava fino ad oggi...

Questo film è fatto veramente bene , siamo in Irlanda negli anni '60 stiamo a livelli di inquisizione che schivo, poi la chiesa vuole insegnare il bene perche non si fa un po di mia culpa e tanta ne deve fare.

@ciancif credo si possa chiamare anche informazione e denuncia. Dopo la visione del film ho visto il documentario "Sex in a cold climat" che sembra corroborare l'ipotesi che il film dica la verità. Il dubbio naturalemte resta sempre, ma i fatti narrati non mi sembrano così astrusi..

Folks, this is a movie, FICTION. Even worse, it is an appeal to pity (which is a logical fallacy in arguments). in other words you're being manipulated into feeling pity for fictitious characters due evil nuns that are equally fictitious.

Though there are, no doubt, nuns that leave a lot to desire. remember that they're more often than not at the forefront of tending the sick and feeding the poor.
