I remember spending 100 hours in the first area HITTING MYSELF just to level up my spells to 16, weapon levels to 16, health to 9999, mp to 999, strength etc etc etc.
to be honest i haven't found someone so power full that this one... why look most of the ff series boss for what i know are either trying to reach it glory goal aka the one form ff 1 3 4 5 7 8 10 and some in half of the game is enjoying it thinking they are the gods aka ff6 ( note i don't count others cause i haven't play them) but the emperor DUDE THIS MOTHER FUCKER IS already enjoying his glory in the beginning of the game his scaring you off with his tough army making you feel worthless
@bobaneko Kefka pretty much did become a god, but the Emperor is vastly underrated. True, he is kind of a cliched evil emperor, but he's still, in my opinion, the biggest badass villain in the entire series. I mean, he TOOK OVER HELL. AND HEAVEN. This guy totally deserves more attention than he gets.

Make Emperor Mateus translucent, add the imperial Palamecian army marching under his visage, and have an epic quote from him. You could totally turn this into a military campaign poster.
And to think this guy threw Satan off his "perch" in FF2...that's some kind of evil for you, selling your soul to someone you end up superceding. This guy's TOO raw.
I don't think there's a FF villain that was as organized as he was. Now I wonder how it'd go down if he were running for mayor to this theme...

@TheHikariOne Saying the Emperor was the most organized villain in FF history isn't saying much, since most of the others were either brutish tyrants or omnicidal maniacs. Still, Orphan from FFXIII gives the Emperor a run for his money. It falls short, but it tries.
One of the most majestic songs in the series. A pity most people don't even know it exists due to the bad worth of mouth of FF2. Thanks for extending the most beautiful version of it though!
@Kadaj158 This theme alone single-handedly makes this otherwise skippable (in my opinion, anyway) sequel to the original classic totally worth playing. Also, to be fair, I kind of enjoyed this game's ability to make me feel good about myself by building up to godlike levels at the very beginning.

FFII might NOT have been the best FF ever, but it definitely has the best Final Dungeon of the whole series. Even the NES version sounds great.
