Should have constructed tanks housing out of concrete block and ventilated with metal Louvre door to comply. Even better why not just have direct mains. then theres no legionella or freezing risk. but hey what do I know. lol
Agree that we missed the ventilation and I will do something about that, concrete blocks would have been an option however, they would not come up to the correct building regulations for heat retention.
Thermal blocks with a cavity yes but a lot more work and cost. When building flat roofs we have to get involved with lots of different regulations you would not think about asking your roofer if he new the regulations on installing a cold water tank or asking a plumber if he understands dew points ! zamtimzz
Probably note unfortunately outside my scope of works. The customer was given the opportunity of replacing the tank when the roof was open, if he had taken up this offer think how nice of a job could have been achieved, his son is going to change the tank in due course. Before even starting the replacement of the flat roof I told the customer that any vibration may start this old tank leaking.
All EPDM flat roofs come with a 10Year insurance back guarantee this can be extended to 20 years if the customer wont to pay the premium, the industry knows that the first two years of any roof is going to be the most pragmatic if problems are to appear so to pay for a 20 year guarantee is over the top, after 10 years the insurance premiums starts to go sky high. Key words Mineral felt, asphalt, decking, leaking roof, roof repairs, roofing contractor, zamtimzz
would you mind if i put your video on my website as a link? I am DetroitHomeInspector /dot/ com
