It's common for studios to use music from other films for new trailers. Very often the score hasn't been finished or edited in when the first trailers come out, or they're simply using the music to set a certain tone. 'Benjamin Button' used music from 'Love Actually,' 'Legends of the Fall' used 'The Last of the Mohicans,' etc.

Acording to imdb, there is no info about UK release date. The country that has a release date and is closest to UK is germany, and its dvd release date is june 18. 2009. In other countryes listed, it is already on dvd. You can download it if you have nothing against piratery. You can alwise say you were forced to download it becouse you couldnt watch it in your country do to not being available yet. :)

I didn't like the movie at all, I didn't feel it quite encompassed the main themes the book was going for, and Arlene ie. Ellen Page's role is super small in both the movie and the book, so yeah the story isn't really about her.

Ellen page is not the main character. If you read the book you will find that Arlene(Ellen's character) has only a few minor spots in it. Ellen may play in the movie but her character doesn't come close to being a lead role.

its about an old woman who is being sent to an old age home by her son, but she doesnt want to go, so she runs away and starts thinking back on her life and how she got to where she is today... its really good.

has anyone seen the stone angel at any of the film festivals? Ellen's character (arlene) was a pretty minor one in the novel so i'm wondering if anyone knows how much she was in the movie?

anyway, i can't wait to see the movie, alot of my friends hated the book when we read it in high school (my friend liked to call it the stone whore) I think it's because hagar can be hard to like, but i loved the book so i'm glad to see so many people here liked it too. I wonder how they did the ending? lol

yeah i saw it during the toronto film festival! it was great, but youre right, arlene is a very minor character and ellen is only in it for 5 minutes..

i actually havent read the book, so i dont know if they did the ending different...

i actually used to work with christine horne (young hagar) but i havent seen her in a long time. i was really excited to see her in this movie.. she was really good, and its her first feature! i hope you like it.. i really did.. i might watch it again this week..

I had the pleasure of watching the screening at the Female Eye Film Festival. The Stone Angel uncovers the humour in life under less than perfect circumstances; thought provoking and candid. I can relate to the directors adaptation and walk away with one thought - girls just wanna have fun !
