This is Engelbert Humperdinck!!!!! I've listened to him sing this song many times, and listened to this recording 1000s of times. Ray Price recorded Please Release me. I can't find anything definite about Jim Reeves ever recording it. This was recorded when Engelbert first began, and actually was the springboard to his 45 year (and ongoing) career. Am 100%, absolutely no doubt, positive that this is Engelbert Humperdinck!!!!

@stress021 Please listen to the songs by Jim Reeves that your parents have. Jim Reeves never recorded it. If you can find it, then please post it for the rest of us. He was a great singer, but I'm a major Engelbert fan, and would know his voice anywhere. Ray Price, Eddy Arnold, Elvis and Engelbert all recorded it, and maybe some others, but Engelbert's version is the best known, and this is Engelbert's original recording.
