  • That guy is a chief how dome is he not wearing gear that guy need to be fired like right now. poor leadership.

  • In my county we could never get that close.

  • Really? Why not?

  • I have to agree with some, again no gear on some dud walking around looking important, as he walked to the back a board come down from the second floor

  • Scene lights from the engineer would be a good place to start.

  • I give thanks to all the men and women that risk their lives for us. We wish you the best

    Nice video!!!!

    berwick fire department rangers 110

  • hola, admirablelabor, pero creo que la seguridad del jefe de bomberos merece cuestionamientos al no usar los elenmentos de seguridad necesarios.

    Saludos,

  • uh, I got this from Babel Fish:

hello, admirablelabor, but I believe that the security of the fire chief deserves cuestionamientos when not using the necessary elenmentos of security. Greetings,

  • Looks like you're the one catching all the heat. Great footage & remember... THFD is making the video accessible to the public for all to see & most likely had no control over the events of that night.

  • Probably the worst display of firefighting i have seen in awhile. The guy with no coat is trying to be a hardass and it is only for looks because then he looks "important" and everyone else in gear are pee-ons. What if the structure came down and trapped all attack personnel? Is he going to go to the truck to get his coat and helmet? What an idiot. And who taught them? Probably the same jackass without a coat or helmet. Show this in class on what not to do!!!

  • Guess it shows that some people have no canolis. You do what needs done and hope for the best. If you can't live with that then find other employment. Nothings guaranteed, and those who ridicule are probably desk jockeys.

  • Very well put.

  • you want a comment you get em, it looks like a very sloppy job, maby the fat guy got too hot and took off his coat to lead by example, im glad im not on your dept. have you guys lost alot of men on fires?

  • one in the last 44 years.

  • This is a very old video from my department. Also learning from others mistakes makes us all better. If this video makes just one brother think before they enter, then it was worth posting.

  • i agree,good response,thankyou.

  • This comes from NIMS folks,

    Rescue

    EXPOSURES

    Confinement

    Extinguishment

    Overhaul

    Salvage

Say no more. Also, I agree with the IC comments...where's his helmet, jacket, or even some kind of ID that designates him such? I thought he was going to burn when he walked down that alley...looked like the fire intensified out the window as he walked past.

  • Hey THFD, I have some questions. It says on your profile that you are a paramedic. What percent of your call volume is EMS? What percent of your EMS calls are ALS? Finally, does your department do its own BLS transports or is that done through a private ambulance service?

    Bonehead

  • I hate to be a Monday morning quarterback, but handlines to the exposures could have come a hell of a lot faster. You saw the #4 side exposure already smoldering by the time they got water on it. And that guy walking down the alley with no coat and helmet....come on.

  • No coat, no helmet, no scba, if he is the ic then the whole crew is in trouble. If that was our dept, the man would have been out of a job. I know that sounds kind of harsh, but something happens to him and other people have to risk their lives to drag him out. I also agree with the comments about protecting the exposures. Why start your attack on the fully involved structure when the nearbly structures are at risk?

  • You are right ! in one Point you can see the top of the left is is hot but not burning.A minute later it´s on Fire too...Why they have not Protect the other building, and let the house, that is in Full-Fire burn Down ? That Building is 100% lost when they arrived. We here in Germany let then let the Main Building Burn if it´s abolutly Lost like here. Then we Protect other Building to get fire from the imense Heat from the Burning Building.

  • i guess my first comment didnt post. no.1 why is that guy running around in turnout pants and a tee shirt while everyone else has a pack on? i hope hes not the ic or ops. what was he thinking. man that just isnt safe at all. but also as a whole why are you guys trying to make an interior attack on a house thats obviously a total loss before youve covered the exposures,i would think thats what i would be trying to save. but all that really matters is that no one got hurt i hope
