The only Shoen Jump Animes I ever cared about were DBZ and the original Yu-Gi-Oh! The rest....pretty much crap. Some anime that I been liking are Pokemon, Sonic X (yes, bite me), Transformers, Parappa the Rapper, and D.Gray-man (a show that BlazingGoukuzaru showed me and it's pretty damn epic).

Frankly, I like Naruto, One piece, DBZ, Bleach I hate YUGIOHOS. So you could call me a shoene Jumper. But I have never worn a Naruto headband. If you try to change the conversation from say "DBZ" to "BatMan" I would not care. Hell I would enjoy it. I like Batman. Sure I buy the SJ magizine and various manga. Here are my reply to the DBZ criticism:

Dragged on battles: Yes, they do drag on, and should be cut down to major parts.

Seeming endless powerlevels: True, but there is a 3 transformation limit from what it seems.

Animation Recycle: True, but what old anime hasn't recycled animation?

Predictable plots: There are only 4 major arcs and don't play out the same as everyone claims it to be, even though they do have the same climax.

The show that never ends: The dragged on fights are to blame for that, along with filler but there is usually not that much filler.

Dub: The show had to be dubbed at least four times to my knowledge and that is probably by people are tired of the show since it ended of a decade ago. Music makes the mood, and Funimation's Heavy Metal souondtrack was to "epic". They replaced "Cha-la-head-cha-la" with that electric guitar song that everyone's probably familiar with.

Okay I'll agree that there are some criticisms about DBZ but I was good for the time it was made in. If you want you an anime that repeats the same thing over and over than check out Pokemon. In the show it's the same thing season after season. But at least with the movies you see somethings that are different for a change. So the Pokemon movies are actually better than the show it's self. Oh! and a forth super saiyan form shows up in Dragon Ball GT.

I love almost everything from Shonen Jump (Bleach, Naruto, Gin Tama, Fist of the North Star, Jojo Bizarre Adventure, Death Note etc.) but I watch more such as Hell Girl, a Samurai Champloo, Azumanga Daioh, Tenjou Tenge, Air Master etc. I do look at Western Work too, Avatar, Teen Titans, the old X-Men cartoon, Invader ZIM, etc. Basically, I can be a JUMPer but hate walking around looking emberased in a mall cosplaying so I guess I break that stererotype huh?

My favorite manga published my Shonen-Jump is Dragonball, not DBZ but Dragonball.

Yugioh is a huge waste of money. I ACTUALLY paid $400 for 3 Blue Eyes White Dragons a Polymerization and a Blue Eyes 3 Headed whatever the hell it's called back when that was the strongest monster.

lol yea those kind of shows and the fans of them ARE really annoying. watched one ep. of Yugioh, rolled my eyes at it never watched it again, same with naruto, DB anything, and pretty much anything on YTV.

why does stuff like that, make it to tv, when the good stuff like Blood+ and Hellsing get totally ignored?

yes they are Adult anime, but darn I'd rather watch something get blown to pieces then watch someone play cards (in the shows)

I will say being a yu-gi-oh fan, it might not be the best anime of all time, but its the best one involving playing games with monsters.

I do disagree with the whole punch anyone with ninja band thingy. I mean what if there a good person, yet they like the anime and a whole lot of other things.

i collect yu-gi-oh cards but i doen't watch the anime,i just collect them so soon some guys gonna be crying knowing yu-gi-oh cards are no longer being selled and then he searches on ebay,spots my cards and puts a giant bid,i don't think that'll ever happen though,i'm not saying i don't want yu-gi-oh to die but well what will millions of people around the world do with they cards if it did die?

oh yeah. i completely agree. i know one kid who takes the cake. He bought the entire "Kingdom hearts" version of Yugioh...i think he spent 200 bucks on that...I could have bought a wii with that much. shows how sad some of these kids are.
