@holzfallen its an amazing band from sweden, the death growls and stuff may not be for you, so listen to say..windowpane, in my time of need, folklore, haxprocess, nepenthe, to bid you farewell, porcelain heart. Just to name a few. Blackwater park is one thats amazing. Demon of the fall, just check em out lol.
Anyone who thinks Opeth suck are obviously moronic, they're technical and musical skill is insanely good, however, Popol Vuh are also musically brilliant. AND they're two completely different genres and styles of music so why you're all arguing over who's better i have no idea, now be quiet and enjoy the track
a lot of the music (like this track) on the Nosferatu soundtrack is not used in the film. It could do with a re-release including pieces of music such as Wagner's das Rheingold
To narutocaprirequest2: The song is called 'Sanctus' and comes from Messe Solennelle de Sainte Cecile and is performed by Orchestre de la Societe des Concerts du Conservatoire conducted by Jean-Claude Hartemann.
I like it very much. One of the best Fichelscher's riff. Check 'Venus Principle' from the same album. As to Opeth, they also employs Popol Vuh's 'Mantra' from that album to open one of the two parts of their Lamentation concert.

Great, but i have been looking for the soundtrack wich plays in the middle of the movie : Sanctus(Gounod),i found the original version of the track but didn't like it,i want the version as performed in the movie,DAMN!!
it reminds me the motherfucking awaiting moments in an opeth concert here in greece...man...it s SO dark and fucking gr8...i almost expect demon of the fall to enter (like in athens) or when (roundhouse tapes....) OPETH
thank you

I listened to this album until one of my neighbors knocked on my door to complain, not that I was playing it too loud, but too often.

I love Opeth, but I'd take Popol Vuh over Opeth any day. I think Mikael would agree with me.

This is a great and atmospheric song! I enjoy Popol Vuh, especially their scores for Werner Herzog's earlier films like "Aguirre."

@TheBren93 Well, you see, Opeth covered part of this song in a 2003 concert film entitled "Lamentations."

This is not a song from Nosferatu. This is "Kleine Krieger", a song of 1974 from album "Einsjager & Siebenjager"

The 'riff' sounds similar the one featured at the second part of "Echoes" by Pink Floyd.

@GizmoLico Let's compare two bands that are completely stylistically different and active in mostly different time periods. Makes sense.
Opeth are amazing at what they do, and Popul Vuh were amazing at what THEY did...
Simple.
