Why is Slipknot so fucking awesome? If American television had the balls it should have, they'd play some of the heavier stuff off of All Hope Is Gone, or better yet, play older material. I'm talking pre-Subliminal Verses, even though that album is an A to Z masterpiece, and my personal favorite. After the filming of this performance ended, they did play "(sic)" which was awesome, as usual.

In metal and music generally heavy does not mean better. Listen to metalcore or death metal if you want JUST heaviness. Slipknot are classed as a "heavy metal" band. Which incorporates melodic singing and experimental riffs. Slipknot have always had melodic vocals, and songs like this - which I'm not really a fan of of - are experimental.

What's wrong with a slow-rock song every now and then? Listen to AHIG and Gematria then you fool.

I just think that CD itself fit them and in MY OPINION was what they were trying to do with their music. But since they became more mainstream and were played on the radio they have become more... "tolerable" for a lack of a better term by the general audience.
