Fast food restaurants would have to invest in updating their fountains and purchase way more flavor varieties which would cost more for them. Plus with only one valve opening for it to come out of there would be much mixing of sodas and liquids which I personally would not approve of as a customer. But that's just me...........

@mikeom01 I actually worked at the company which is creating the machines. There is a post and prewash with just straight carbonated water when a new flavor is selected, there isnt any cross contamination of soda. Also, certain flavors have their own tubes so they do not travel through the same ones through the machine.

I agree it is awful! I wanted regular coke and I could taste other additives in it. Also, my 9 year old daughter is a Type 1 Diabetic and can only have diet drinks. I know it is not safe for her to drink out of this machine. New technology can be great, but definitely not in this case!

This is the most horrible soda fountain ever. My family and I came across one at a Wendy's in Slidell, La. For one, there being only 1 spigot creates lines of people (especially kids) who can't decide what they want. Secondly, if you just want a coke or a sprite that is not flavored, good luck. I wanted just regular Coke, and I could taste the vanilla and other flavor additives that had dripped into my soda, making it truly NASTY. Sorry Coke - this thing sucks!
