I live in Las Vegas and I was told today that Nevada Federal took over a bank by the name of Community Bank. Instead of just re-training the existing employees, they let everyone go without notice. How shitty is that? The economy in Vegas is really bad right now. We are over 13% unemployment, Foreclosures are way up. And inflation just keeps getting worse. I don't know how we are going to make it.

I'm seeing a lot of people with degrees get cut and companies moving lesser employees with not degrees up to do there jobs at a SLIGHT pay raise. Its win win for the company and employee. That was not my definition of, work life balance. I've never collected $1 of unemployment. Since quitting, I'm on my 3rd contract job and had two jobs selling memberships for national fitness chains. The sales jobs were a joke and paid min wage. My 401k is completely gone $140k. I was lucky I networked into another contract job with the same company I resigned from. This job is only 3 weeks old but I am glad I have it, and I'm not working graveyard.
My Story: I worked for a defense contractor for 19 years until I resigned because I could not work another night shift after 4 years of it. During that time, I had 3 deaths in my family, father, grandmother, brother, my wife had cancer, and a 19 year old nephew came to live with me. My employer gave me no wiggle room or flexibility on shift work and insisted I work nights. Against my best judgement, I just quit. continued.
The bailout ensures us unemployment. This is what happens when you allow free markets. The average joe gets screwed over.

I live in Las Vegas and I was told today that Nevada Federal took over a bank by the name of Community Bank. Instead of just re-training the existing employees, they let everyone go without notice. How shitty is that? The economy in Vegas is really bad right now. We are over 13% unemployment, Foreclosures are way up. And inflation just keeps getting worse. I don't know how we are going to make it.

That was not my definition of, work life balance. I've never collected $1 of unemployment. Since quitting, I'm on my 3rd contract job and had two jobs selling memberships for national fitness chains. The sales jobs were a joke and paid min wage. My 401k is completely gone $140k. I was lucky I networked into another contract job with the same company I resigned from. This job is only 3 weeks old but I am glad I have it, and I'm not working graveyard.

My Story: I worked for a defense contractor for 19 years until I resigned because I could not work another night shift after 4 years of it. During that time, I had 3 deaths in my family, father, grandmother, brother, my wife had cancer, and a 19 year old nephew came to live with me. My employer gave me no wiggle room or flexibility on shift work and insisted I work nights. Against my best judgement, I just quit. continued.

We need hefty government regulation over the private sector. We need to the government to force salary cuts at the top of corporations and give to the workers. So the workers can go out and buy goods.

All unemployment offices were closed years ago. Now when you call for your benefits good luck getting through, and when you do get through it's a two hour wait on hold.

Let me add I liked what one poster said to camp out on some of the congressmens lawns or something like that. Keep laughter in the day, Help your neighbor, stop thinking of your self. We will make it, The world has gotten too big for its britches and NOW if we do not have our stuff, we will die, NO WAY. You will feel free and liberated. I laughed as the only bills I could pay were electric, a bank loan and car ins. My car is paid for a 1988 HOOPTIE which I love dearly. Lighten up Vid boy, Peace!

maybe i should have elaborated, my bad...when i say find a government building to camp at, i am referring to any public building that was payed for by taxes...this is for the people who end up in the worst position...i myself live a pretty minimalistic lifestyle so the problems with the economy dont affect me as bad...i was homeless before...i used public buildings to survive , alot...everyone stay strong and get your financial priorities straight...

Thanks for sharing, I feel that the energy you put into this VID should be put into staying calm. It will do no one any good that constantly says how bad everything is. When I took "A New Earth" Oprah's web event I learned How useless it is to,"Worry about what if's"We really Have too much stuff. What we need is food + H20.Now I was raised very megerly, since Ams. are the heaviest people on the earth, let us take this time to trim down. Use it as a positive force. Barter. (IRS does not like)
