  • It does not go at the speed of light, but at the speed of electricity, which is about 60% the speed of light.

  • lower price!

  • ive had a HDD 500G for 6 years... i use it like HELL with tons of torrents. 1.7bmps connection and i never stop downloading at 900kbps. ... ever. im always deleting and downloading. for 6 years... straight. ive NEVER had a problem. no corrupted files.. no crashes. nothin. ive honestly never experienced any HDD crash with my drive... and it was only 150 bucks back in the day. no too bad. =/ this stuff looks really exciting and i cant wait for the prices to drop ^_^ 1 year baby. itll be all good.

  • for 100% security i have dropbox. drives can always fail.

  • SOLID!

  • was this video made in the 90s ? bad quality must say

  • Maybe I need to wait 10 Years before the price drop season comes. BEcause people will not buy it for being pricey!!

  • basically it's just a memory stick with a SATA port

  • @DonSleightholme yeah but does your memory stick transfer files at 200mb/s+? didnt think so.

  • bum!bum,bum,bumb,bumb!

  • SSD should be like HDD . I mean by the size of the memory. I need minimum 320 GB to have my games and documents. so Ima stick su HDD.

  • I find traditional hard drives to be very rubust.

I dropped my mini pc from 1 meter over the ground and nothing happened to it.

  • OCZ brand ftw cheaper then Intel almost

  • @barf245

and faster too. i know, i work at OCZ. lol

  • Poor bastards complaining about the $400 price tag, not much I say!

  • 900% faster!

    900% more expensive!

  • @Herrgolani thats how marketing works

  • why do intel/nvidia always so fucking expensive

  • I have no idea why but this reminds me of the Umbrella advert from resident evil ... scary stuff?

  • but how will we ever make hard drive speakers?!?!?

  • Why do I get this feeling again?? Plz, don't tell me that this is an American propaganda video made by Intel?? LOL

  • What's the difference between a USB drive and and SSD? Can't the USB used to boot from?

  • USB is a connection technique --- SSD is a storage technique --- they are unlinked to each other, but USB is known to be very slow, so they will not likely be interested in combining a hyperfast disk with a very slow connector, which would ruin everything. Even USB 3.0 is not really impressive, so go figure.

  • give it some time it will get cheaper.

  • where do I get one?I need a new drive.

  • What capacity of this drives?

  • 30 32 60 80 120 128.. 500 1tb insanely expensive

  • @haha48 how much for the 1 tb one?

  • 5498 us... i was like good luck selling that..

  • umm.. umm... shit! -_- with that i could build an awesome gaming rig and still have money left for me :D

  • thats what I said and thats inculding os 3 moniters 24inch tower and ati 5970 in crossfire...

  • yeah probably lol...

  • 900% wtf i have yet to see any review that show at least 200% INCREASE in perfomance vs the 7000rpm hard drive

  • but once you have to rewrite data it slows the hard drive down completely and eventually fail.

  • TRIM is for that. It does not slow down anymore

  • how do u put these in a desktop their 2.5"??

  • Since they are sata they use the same form factor connections, theres an adapter to fit inside a regular computer..

  • how du u put your dick in your wife?. ok, sry. there are special hdd cases for 2.5".

  • They also forgot to mention IT COST AS MUCH AS A COMPUTER!

  • It's not that expensive anymore... And just wait about 6 months more and it will be worth buying.

  • Come back to me when I can get an Intel 80GBSSD for $100.

  • Toshiba Develops 1TB SSD That Fits On A Postage Stamp.

    im serious... google it

  • not if you have a good computer.. just like everything else if you want the best you got to pay for it..

  • Intel Solid Rape Drive introduction

  • ye but other ssd is better :P

  • which ones???

  • still not ready for mainstream market at the moment. but in 5 years hhd will probably be a thing of the past with maybe the exception of very large cheap storage drives.

  • A limited number of read and writes, means they are guaranteed to fail. The more you write and erase from the drive, the sooner it will fail. You could use disposable USB flash drives for internet cache and page file and other temp storage to limit use of drive.

Meaning, their best for people who almost never use their computer, or for a presentation that they maybe only write data to the drive once a year.

The drives are smaller storage, so not yet for computer power users.

  • i know ssd is faster but what a load of waffle.

the ssd'd i have worked with and heard about fail so easily due to the scencitiverty of the drives unless they are lining them with lead to stop this haha

  • lead wouldnt stop them it might fuck them up more. adding more weight for it to fall accelerate faster causing a more violent crash. if anything a foam would be more likely. and where do you work with SSD that allows you to use the word scencitiverty?

  • so how much will these puppies be?

  • an absoluye bomb tbf dude

worth it if you are hard core pc extreemist but around 300% more expensive than norm hhd drives

  • I wonder if AMD would make their own SSD lol

  • Does it use SRAM instead of Flash Memory? I know flash memory has a limited number of read and writes which can be chewed up fast if its role is that of the hard drive.

  • SRAM is a processing memory like L1/2/3 cache ,RAM etc , ,so no ,, , SLC ssds are the best and theyre most expensive , ,8GB SLC SSD = £60 ,32GB MLC SSD = £85 ,, they also have SRAM in them and theyre more durable, , ,

  • In two or three years these will dominate the market. Too bad I need a new computer now.

  • Pls lower the prices

    don't be greedy

  • @enyceckk101 lol... 100% true :P

  • @enyceckk101 Intel is not geedy, because SSD technology is inmature.Maybe 5-10 years later they may have a chance to lower the price.

  • the wd velicoraptors are fast and dont cost as much as the highly overpriced sdds

  • ssd are also slient unlike the raptors and faster

  • pricewise, better. raptors aren't that much louder as you would expect.

  • Nice!!!. Just one thing would make them even better: Lower prices.

  • And increase storage size
