@craftyladydi I do not trim the cuticles UNLESS there is overgrown dead cuticle and visible lifting and flaking off - I don't nipper around them on the basis that this is the seal to the matrix of the nail where the cells are generating and breaking this seal creates infections. I've seen ALOT of over-nippered and inflamed cuticles from over-happy nippering therapists.
@TheMrEizley No I don't think so - the main time spent on a manicure is shaping and cleaning the nail plate and cuticle area - even after that is done nails look so much better : )
@amber123155 they totally do hey! We were taught in beauty school not to buff side to side but once you hit the industry you definitely get taught differently. I'm not so worried about tough toenails being buffed side to side but thinner fingernails I stick to vertical buffing
i wanna know if theres a difference in the cuticle removing cream and liqud. are they both do the same removing thing? and tell me the diff between the alcohol and the nailcolour remover. what is alcohol for? is it a thinner or spirit or something?pls rep anyone.
@Makeup101cammy I'm not removing the cuticles, I'm removing the built up grown over cuticle protein stuck on the nail bed. I can clip any excess cuticle but of course NEVER clip the live cuticle as it protects the matrix of the nail
Just a question, when I do some clients they have very dirty nails down under the sides of the nails, how do the get this clean without embarrasing the client?
@MokiPool hey there, the soak should help with some of the dirt in the creases and folds. otherwise a dampen a ripped off little bit of cotton pad and put that on the end of an orangestick then clean them ... people should expect that you will be cleaning them - don't worry about it being embarrassing - if they say 'omg it's so bad I'm so embarrassed' just say "noooo don't worry it perfectly normal and it's my job to clean them til they are sparkly clean' : )
