When we had a second cat (This was not planned) Tommy was freaking out and would not eat if she was in the house. After a few fights they were okay with each other. It's funny when you do that, but can be scary.

I recommend the book Cat Wrangling Made Easy by Dusty Rainbolt - a lot of good ideas in there to help kittehs make friends (or at least, tolerate each other). ;)

I wouldnt worry too much about the height of the fence - they will be too interested in each other visually and trying to discern the other's scent to make that overt move in jumping over. I would clearly get some type of see thru gate - evensomething that just is in a doorway maybe. If you have an oven use the racks. Hope it helps.

Try at your local pet store or perhaps a baby/kids-accessories store. Fences/gates like these are usually not expensive; $20 to $100 depending on size and material (i.e wood is cheaper than steel) . Good luck :)

Your right, this is seriously the best way he could of done it. Its how I got Nico (Freinds cat) and Illy (My cat) to not kill each other.

It makes them intresting in each other, curious, and makes it slow, and easy for the cats.
