Don't know about all guns, but the MP5 is a german weapon and german weapons always have the bolt on the left side (that way you can operate the weapon and keep the finger on the trigger)

The Fal Paratrooper has high recoil because it shoots a BIG bullet,

7.62x51 NATO. Otherwise known as the

.308 Caliber. The .308 is accually a sniper round. The Fal Paratrooper and the Dragunov shoot the same bullet.

Hehehe, yup. The Ak-47 shoots a 7.62x39

Similar to the 7.62x51, but shorter, and epicly inaccurate. The russians solution to make an assault rife bullet was brutally simple. Take a full sized rifle bullet

(7.62x51) and shorten it. Its very inaccurate because of how short it is.

You literally couldnt hit a person standing at 200 yards with an Ak-47.

in comparison, in the M16 and its derivatives, the shoulder stock is aligned with the barrel, which results in less recoil, thus giving more accuracy in full auto than AKs.

the 7.62 round is a great bullet, very powerful compared to the 5.56 round. it has more kinetic energy and can break through thicker armor and walls. the US army has some plans of making future assault rifles that will use the 7.62 because they now acknowledge the weakness of the 5.56 round compared to the 7.62

Highly doubt that! Because of the kevlar vest there is the need for shorter assault rifles (you can't face the side of your body to your enemy because there is no protection by the kevlar vest). That means shortening the shoulder stock and the barrel (example: G36 and G36C). The last derivate of M16 has a shorter barrel, but this barrel is too short for the 5.56 round, because the bullet doesn't evolve full kinetic energy. That means there is a need for a smaller caliber, like in MP7.

bmx65 is right about the AK47 shooting a 7.62x39 round, but wrong about the reason of the AK's inaccuracy. the bullet has nothing to do with it. its the shoulder stock. in the AK series, the stock comes with a 30 degrees angle from the barrel, which results in lots of recoil when firing in full auto mode. that is why the AK is inaccurate. but in semi-auto, its accurate and has an effective range of 300m, with a max range of 800m.

i learned a lot about weapons in my military service ( i served a 2 year conscription in my country), and i can tell you with no doubt that the AKs inaccuracy isnt because of the 7.62 round that it fires like bmx65 said.

just in case someone doesnt understand the importance of the shoulder stock: when you aim an assault rifle or a simple rifle, the shoulder stock allows your shoulder to keep the weapon steady as you aim and then absorb the recoil when you fire. becoz of the angle of the stock in AKs, your shoulder absorbs a litle portion of recoil, resulting in inaccuracy in full auto. in M16s, the alignment of the stock and barrel means you absorb most of the recoil and you have more accuracy.

@otasevicjelena1990 Late response, but there are different types of 7.62 rounds. One of the most basic rounds used by snipers is the 7.62x51mm round. Big bullet pushed by alot of powder. The bullet used by the ak is the 7.62x39mm. They necked down the cartridge to make it better fit into the rifle and make it easier to fire in full auto.

@bmx65 Really late response, but the Dragunoc SVD doesn't actually shoot the .308 Winchester (aka 7.62x51mm). It fires the 7.62x54mmR, a bullet with the same diameter but slighly longer casing. The 7.62x54mmR is also used in the Mosin Nagant, one of the most common rifles made.
