Goth originated from punk and so did emo.Emo started in in the 90's but became a well known in the 2000's.Gith rock has been around much longer than that.Probably the eariliest emo band being heroin which started in 89.Punk had much more influences that just rock aswell.

Basically shower, put a lot of conditioner in, and I mean a LOT, and then run your fingers through until all of the tangles are out. If you use enough conditioner you won't rip anything out and it'll be painless.

It depends on the hairspray really. There's a certain length that almost no hairspray will hold it up with if it's too long. But generally the thicker your hair the easier it will stay up.

It isn't a stupid question. It really depends entirely on both the state of your hair and what kind of hair you have. Thicker hair that hasn't been washed or conditioned will stay longer, while finer/straighter/conditioned hair might not stand up on its own at all.
