  • Despite what everyone else says, this is my favorite Isis album. I always liked them for their more atmospheric side, which this album shows plenty of.

  • I WANT TO SEE THE WHOLE FUCKING THING.... WHERE CAN I GET THAT FUCKING MAGAZINE DVD?????

  • a huevo el vato de isis pisteando tecate roja haha

  • Nice Ofermod shirt

  • tecate roja 0:55

  • What a powerful band! Need to see them live its another world. So powerful.

  • me encanta isis

  • This was my least favorite ISIS album but they're still my absolute favorite band in human history and I respect every single effort they made for creating such amazing music for us to share.

  • "the vocals need to be a little quieter there" thank you. thank you. thank you.

  • So he only had the lyrics in his head? Badass..

  • i think ive seen coheed and cambria recording in this studio before, unless im getting mixed up. i take it that's a pretty famous studio?

  • @FaintestFusion I think you're right!

  • I'll miss Isis.

  • 1:49. was Aaron in his underwear? XD that was hot.

  • Saw these live in manchester in the uk.....I need these guys to reform. Best gig iv ever been to, honeslty. Does anyone have any info on what the band members are doing or if they joined another band?

  • @bravestyogi News from the 4th of this month: Ex-Isis bassist Jeff Caxide, programmer Bryant Clifford Meyer and drummer Aaron Harris have been moving forward with their as-yet unnamed new project together. Harris recently tweeted the following on that:

“Demoing a few new songs with Jeff and Cliff today. No name or plan for our project yet, but we’re happy with the progress + sounds.”

    Sounds real cool :-D

  • I love Aaron Turner's voice. RIP ISIS

  • Sucks that Isis are calling it quits.

  • Play in Chicagooooo

  • I want that Ankh shirt at 0:06. Anyone knows where I could buy something like that?

  • Not an "Ankh." A... "Gonzo." Search for Hunter S. Thompson t-shirts. Also... read his books. Especially before you attempt to wear the shirt!

  • Ups, my bad. It does look a bit like an ankh though.

  • @MrJohnnydel word

  • his voice, like a bear

  • I love these guys. also tecate lmfao

  • Deathspell Omega!i knew that ISIS are cool! hehe)

  • ISIS IS THE BEEST

  • gonzo thsirt jeah

  • Keep in that Bombshelter, never know when North Korea is gonna hit you....

  • guys are fucking great. i wish i knew how he screams/roars like that.

  • DEATHSPELL OMEGA SHIRT!!!

  • i love the "fact" that they are pedal junkies...ahhaha!!! great band/....

  • what song was he playing at 0:22 ????

  • a power chord

  • @harrymanback4 lol. thanks man.

  • Isis - Wavering radiant is up on my page in it's entirety for you to enjoy.

    Thanks

    P.S In high quality..

  • It's not there -_-

  • There should be a split album between Isis and House of Low Culture.

  • That's one hell of a nice looking studio.

  • Look up the "House of Compression" that they did Wavering Radiant in... It's better. :D

  • their first album "celestial" is the last one I bought and its running up my mental Isis chart very fast. "glisten" and "swarm reigns (down)", those tracks are so fucking sweet!

  • i totally thought it said 1000 sharts...

  • hahahahahahahaa

  • I love their music. They convey so much emotion through their instrumental work and just the sound of the vocals, you don't have to understand the lyrics to "get" the song.

  • does anyone know what amp(s) Isis use for recording, or what amp Aaron's playing through around the 20 second mark? also, how do they get that underwater-ish sound in 1000 shards?

  • There's a video on the tube :Isis gear" check it out.Peace

  • I've actually see it. Thanks though. Aaron says he uses a VHT live since it can do cleans and dirty sounds, and they don't say what Mike uses so I'm curious what they're usin in the studio since Aaron says they usually use one amp for cleans, one for dirty, etc.

  • Aaron Turner is BADASSS

  • I cant get itno Panopticon that much, Oceanic only hits me in certain moods. While their first four are the real fuckin dose. This new one is actually really fuckin good, reminds me of some music someone would uncover in a lost pyramid.

  • these guys are cool ppl. if i get a band together it would be like these guys and there art, i feel where ethere going with there music and there contrast in there art sort of speak.

  • I read somewhere under a diff ISIS vid somebody saying that ISIS was tight... I think that is the bast word to describe them.. they are tight..fkn water tight even, which gives tham the room to add diff textures in that are easily distiguishable even if they are quite subtle.

I love their work.. very moody and preogressive... the feel of thier music shifts like the seasons.

  • ofermod shirt ahah

    aaron is kvlt

  • what aaron is amazing live.....

  • i think it must have just been that gig u went to. check out the beginning has an end tokyo, and i think u'll change ur mind and also check how powerful his voice is on old man gloom's stuff.

u probably just caught him on a hoarse day or bad mixing from the sound guy

  • seriously? He's fucking great! The vids i've watched of them are just as good as the album.

  • he wears a shirt with the gonzo fist on it.

    hunter rules!

    isis too.

  • thats a well nice studio!

  • Isis is one of the only metal bands that can pull off playing a tele.

  • yeah dude. gotta have the teles with the humbuckers though, hard to play metal on the little single coils.

  • yup..tool and isis..my 2 fav bands..friggin awesome..

  • ISIS and Tool are great bands but...

    ISIS is better

  • ahhh please ppl...enjoy isis's music in an isis video and tools music in a tool video!! there are plenty of both to fulfil

  • For one, how can you compare totally different styles of music, you really do sound like an ignorant beotch sayin that. They are both incredible bands, but nothing alike

  • First point: Both bands ARE GREAT. That's undeniable.

I agree with you, I think are bands from different styles, but they have common ideas, such as transmit the most intense feelings, the deepest sensations...that's what makes them huge bands. Tool is my favourite band, but that's just a personal opinion. But I love ISIS too. When I listen to them I can see the reason why Tool has invited them to open their shows. =)

  • couldn't have said it better myself. I saw that show w/ Tool & Isis and it couldn't have been a better combination...well maybe in Neurosis joining the crew would have made it the best possible show, but it was so f'n awesome. Although Maynard whom I give the highest respects to f'd up several times but who cares he's god.

  • Fucken is it? Prat. Im not gonna comment on who is better as there is only a tenuous comparison. I love isis and don't listen to tool. I have nothing against the band but all the people I know who listen to tool are commercial cocksuckers!

  • omg, concentrate on the music and not on the cocksuckers ...

  • True that!

  • Hmmm... I bet Isis would disagree with your foolish bitch-ass. Isis was honored to open for Tool...

  • @DRIVEBYRACHKO for real....i like tool....and for the people that dont...you have to at least admit they are fucking talented

  • Comment removed

  • That's very discussible. But yes, they're both great bands. Each one on its way.

  • when arent they sick

  • Tool's ok, their fans though... yikes. Isis is playing a bunch of old stuff on their 10 year anniversary tour. Stuff from Mosquito Control and The Red Sea. They were sick in NYC last week!

  • I saw them in Portland, Oregon a couple weeks ago and it blew me away. I do wish that they would have played some of their newer stuff, though. In the Absence of Truth is by far their best work.

  • I'll just reply to prevent Isis newcomer confusion: Absence is not their best. Listen to Oceanic and Panopticon and see if you share my opinion.

  • inhalcyon- Wow, where to begin? What a horrifically ignorant and pathetic comment..."Tool fucking sucks." I'm sure ISIS would love to tell you how ridiculous of a comment that is. Listen to ISIS interviews and you will see where a huge influence from their sound comes from...Tool...

  • hmmm. I saw ISIS open for Tool last year. Tool seemed pretty into ISIS and vice versa. So much so that Justin Chancellor actually came out on stage and played with ISIS for their last song and did like a dueling bass thing in the song. And fyi your just a hooker with a penis.

  • How the hell can you like isis and not like tool?

  • *most

  • it's Mike Row from Dirty Jobs at 00:40

  • what the hell are you talking about?

  • turner's a straight tribal dude, back in the day ISIS was much more pissed

  • Isis are just brilliant full stop all there music in general is brilliant from the first album till date I love Celestial(The Tower) its really powerful

  • I like Aaron's voice in this album vs. Oceanic

  • the new album is great, listen to old man gloom aron´s other band with members from converge, cave in and zozobra i think^^

  • caleb scofield of zozobra actually sang on the album version of "1000 shards"

  • Good man!

  • Part superhero/UFC fighter/vocal-guitar badass on stage and a complete geek in the studio. You really can't ask for much more than that. The Tool/Isis music similarities are few but the fact that they are both really good is one and the fact that other than D.C. they're all just a bunch of dorks. My dorks.

  • In The Absence of Truth is the album of the year. Isis's music is just off the charts. Isis OWNS!!!!

  • Oceanic is better

  • don't compare tool and isis. that's like comparing a fillet mignon to a big mac.

  • shut up god damn it!!!! they're both awesome bands.they just have different styles

  • Hahaha gotta agree while laughing :D

Good one, man. But so true.

  • both of them are awsome

  • lol, at least he put some thought into it ^^

  • great instruments, great vocalist, sincere attitude.

    ISIS OWN!!!

  • I enjoyed this itimate look at their creative process, that is all that needs to be noted.

  • why not just watch the video? if you don't like ISIS maybe this URL isn't for you. Nuff said, what do you think? Sometimes I don't even know why these types of websites have messageboards, it only ecourages this bullshit.

  • isis is sick so is tool so is faith no more so is led zeppelin so is orang otan monday crack moth

  • pidgeon faced moth fuckers with lilypad eye candles sloth covered pelican family

  • Tool and Isis are friends. If they'd see these comments they'd laugh and think it's hilarious. Just accept Tool and Isis both have made several of the most innovative and best albums in modern time. Great musicians who don't give a fuck what we think in the process, that's what makes a good band, they don't adapt to their surroundings.

  • Tool were and always will be incredible, Isis are quite different but are also incredible.

  • i agree with those who are more for isis than tool, i've been a huge tool fan since opiate, but their latest album is such a bore and seemingly complete rip-off of their other albums that i can't fully appreciate them how i used to. but with each isis release they seem to push further, not unlike tool's progression, but still they have maintain their original sound without parodizing themselves like tool has. but then again, this is just like an opinion, man

  • fuck what is with everyone comparing tool and isis everytime i open an isis video on youtube??? who gives a fuck who's better they both produce fucking awesome music and both kickarse so everyone shut the fuck up and watch this phenomenal stuff... I hadn't seen this vid before by the way, cheers for posting =)

    krystie =)

  • Yeah, the whole Isis vs. Tool thing is getting old, guys.

  • these guys and tool are totally seperate things. how can you even compare them?

  • ps if you knew what "tool" stood for you would think twice about calling tool fans "tools" haha u knob.

  • stand for penis? or perhaps a tool as in refernce to the music as being a 'tool' in excorsizing emotional demons?

  • stands for what i use to pump ya mum.

  • Better than Tool.

  • They are not! They kick ass but not better then tool.

  • yes they are better than Tool, Tool isnt interesting anymore. Their latest album bores the hell out of me

  • Tool is so done. Isis is the up and coming band. But of course die hard Tool fans will say such things..after all they are TOOLS.

  • lol say what you want isis is my 2nd favourite band, but they will never be as good as tool. I can garauntee none of you are musicans because you obviously have no idea how simple isis' music is in contrast with tool. Their new album takes time to absorb just like In the absence of truth does, i find it hilarious isis fans bagging out tool? lol.. Say what you want i don't care.

  • you, as a "musician", should understand the complexity of Isis' music. Yes, tool play fast, they play hard things, but they also create SOUNDSCAPES, ever heard of that? ISIS also create SOUNDSCAPES, and creating an awesome soundscape with ONE CHORD, is a hell lot harder than, let's say, the intro of Ticks & Leeches, which shows the great technique of Danny Carrey. I bet Disposition was harder to record than Ticks & Leeches.

  • Not concerning the vocal part, TFS ;-)

But I have to agree (but please, don't take Ticks & Leeches to be the "easier one" :-D)

  • no, don't get me wrong, you need to be a hell of a drummer/vocalist to do ticks & leeches. (guitar and bass are good too). but mixing disposition and playing and creating all the layers of sound was something of a challenge for the band I'm sure. to me, disposition is exactly what alien music would sound like. totally

  • @KimInChains

the only reason youknow about isis is through tool durr respect the elders of music noob

  • @ShroomSamich Well, you're wrong. If I know about Isis through any band it's Neurosis. Right now (and for the last 2 years or so) both Isis and Tool are BORING.

  • @KimInChains

then wtf are u doing watching an isis vid if u think its boring? fucktard...

  • @KimInChains excuse me sir??? how dare you talk about the mighty TOOL in that manner.......

  • ISIS rules the world.

  • Did you hear the end ? They played Wills dissolve afterwards, yay!

  • Wooooow NICE FOOTAGE! So can't wait to see them in feburary, these guys have something really special.

  • these guys are one of the best bands going right now. if you get a chance to see them live, do whatever it takes to go.

  • this is nice

  • wow, nice vid, too bad it doesn't show the entire 1000 Shards
