  • Nice video Paul, 65 mph is an easy cruising;-)

  • @andrzejtrucker I find it relaxing sitting at a constant speed on cruise, I can just sit back and enjoy the ride, besides I save on fuel costs too. over and above 70 my van could drink the stuff if I let her... :-)

    Thanks for watching and commenting...Paul

  • @liam21157 Thanks Liam :-)

  • What's your Mileage per gallon?

  • @ahocknul04 To be honest no idea, its something I have never bothered to workout. All I know is if I go 70mph plus then it will drink fuel at a steady rate, not good in this day and age of ever increasing fuels rises.

60 to 65 mph is a good speed to sit at, and I reckon I get 30 odd miles plus a gallon at that speed.

  • I really enjoy your trips, Bevoin1970. I have had a job like this some years ago in Germany, and I loved it. Hundreds of kilometres every day through big cities and beautiful landscapes. My workhorses were Renault Master and the old Trafic, Opel Combo, VW Caddy, T3 and T4, but also the Kia Pregio (which was not bad at all). Sometimes, I miss this job. Being on the road is simply great...

  • @22fret I agree with you, it also has its down side with traffic problems and closed roads etc...

I used to work in in a factory in engineering before I became a driver, this too had its good and bad points.

I do enjoy seeing more of the UK since I began driving, something which I would never have done had I still stayed in the factory. I also get to meet many nice people along the way.

Maybe one day I'll return to my factory job, who knows.

    Thanks for watching

    Hello from UK :-)

  • very smart driving & safe also nice chain on your hand

  • @lovedale96 Thank you :-)

  • I drive a sprinter, but in a simplified version for the Hispanic market!

  • @wagnercaminhoes001 Best van on the road... :-)) Hello Brazil

  • @skud2k7yadik Hello - I love my new shape Sprinter now, although I did think it wasn't as fast as my old one in terms of generally pulling away and going up hills etc. I find I have to give this one more hammer to make her go. Having said all that after covering a few thousand miles by now I can honestly say I love the van. Comfortable and great on fuel, certainly no worse than the old van. Done APC at Bellshill a few times. Yes I dare say we have crossed paths at some point.. ha ha

  • looks like them sad useless people at youtube have bloked your music.!!!

  • @ba2775 Yes this was not my original music track, very annoying when they do that.

  • @Bevoin1970 Yeah you had a good line up of songs on this video . What was the name of the original music ? maybe we all should build a new video site and shut youtube down lol !

  • breakdown audioswap

    thanks

    Qaisar

  • It's nice to see a Sprinter being driven sensibly. I usually see them screaming down lane three at 100mph. There seems to be a show-off culture among a lot of the drivers.

  • @whitbyjet65 I dont think its a show off culture, more a case of its not their van and they aren't paying for the diesel either, so lets hammer it...

    Thanks for the comments :-)

  • @Bevoin1970 Maybe but it's their licence. I drive a company vehicle & spend 75% of my working week on the road. I'm not claiming to be a squeaky clean angel but some drivers do go over the top. I know people have deadlines but crazy speeding on a motorway doesn't usually gain much time. They just get to the next hold-up quicker.

  • @whitbyjet65 Thats true!! - Wonder if me and you have crossed paths yet?? Ha Ha..

  • @Bevoin1970 More than likely. Do you hate middle lane hoggers as much as me?

  • @whitbyjet65 Sure do, see them every day and can see why they cause traffic hold ups by becoming "rolling road blocks" forcing people out into lane three just to get past them.

Some even come straight down the slip road merging onto the motorway and straight into the middle lane, even though the motorway may be quiet with very few vehicles to get passed, and sit there at 60mph. Frustrating.

Im sure they believe in their heads that lane 1 is only for trucks and not cars...

  • Can't fault your driving (except when ur holding the camera..shot of dutch & english truck & through the mirror shot..naughty naughty) There really are some twats on the road, i:e the red dropside with the concrete mixer in the back and his n/s mirror folded in against the door.

  • u got cruise control?

  • @daddy00000000001 Yes its brilliant, makes for a relaxing drive sometimes if the traffic is light.

  • I really don't know.

  • We have both the Dodge and Mercedes Sprinter. We also have Freightliner, Winnebago Travel vehicles, I'm sure there are other apps that use the same vehicle platform for many different uses.

  • Yes a lot of manufacturers use common platforms I think...

Wonder why they chose the name Dodge on the Sprinter?

  • @Bevoin1970

Because Mercedes is a luxury nameplate in America. . . in America, you can't get an Audi, BMW, or MB with things like cloth seats. I would say that MB is higher than Audi or BMW, but Audi and BMW are still much higher in America than they are in Europe.

  • @bg1379 Seems odd not getting cloth seats, Leather trim is expensive and not ideal for a working van. Merc, Audi and BMW are all very much sort after motors in the UK, quality items with street cred.. :-)

  • @Bevoin1970

Bear in mind that this is a Dodge in America, so this comes with cloth. . . .but never would you find a C-Class or 3 series with cloth or a 4 cylinder engine here.

  • I've never ridden in one, nor do I know of anyone who owns one.

  • Im thinking about buying a sprinter with a Lutonbox to transport gear to the Costa Blanca .Whats your opinion .A friend of mine swears by them.

  • Yes Sprinters are extremely well made and going the distance is no problem at all, they just take it in their stride, thats providing you get yourself one thats been well looked after by its previous owner.

The Luton body ones will use a lot more fuel though, than a regular 311 cdi, simply because of their shape.

I agree with your friend, Sprinters really are the best.

  • We have Mercedes-Benz Sprinters in the USA and Canada. They're sold as Dodge Sprinters as well as some other makes, but with the Sprinter name.

  • Yes I heard they use the name Dodge. They are a brilliant van, very reliable and extremely well made.

  • bought my sprinter few days ago in Hinckley,Leic.,drove like a dream till my driveway in Belgium. REAL trouble with the gears first miles i had to recalculate everything&driving left & sitting on rightside, the driving-style = totally-wasted-drunk-driving,(first 10minutes or so) yes ,good days owning a sprinter !nice video like it*

  • Thanks Boris :-)

  • I keep trying :-)

  • That's gonna be me in a mouth's time haha great video pal ,oh man i just hope i get in the industry, any pointers mate ? Nick manchester

  • Keep your head down, and your eyes on the road... Drive safe and enjoy the stresses of driving.. ha ha.

    Good luck !

  • I like videos like this; it's like a documentary only better - you don't have to pay a sodding TV license, sit through adverts or have to put with professional 'editing' that usually entails someone speaking over the best parts! I will be subscribing me thinks.

  • Well thank you for the nice comments, glad to have your company. Hope you enjoyed the ride. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the sub. :-) Paul.

  • Overtake a bit more. You Brits are F1 World Champions the last two years and your driving a Mercedes as well.

  • Sometimes I have to overtake everything when Im in a hurry, however on this trip I was having a steady drive back home and saving diesel at the same time... Thanks for the comments and watching. :-)

  • Simple Minds !! Such a nice choice as a trip soundtrack.

    Great video !!

  • Thank you, yes I thought so too

  • Great vid! The M4's a lovely motorway to drive, imo

  • Thank you for the nice comments.

  • Thanks, glad you liked it !!

  • I have also 311 (reg02) LWB but I think that the van has unsatisfactory BHP

so what you think about chip tuning???

  • Yes I agree standard 311 is not the best but it does the job. I hear good results from people who have had their vans chipped. Mine is still standard.

  • but its powerful cars, ours is chipped to 210hp and 450nm

  • yes its true, for much wheelspin on the snow, escpecially when the brakes lock on the rear end and it goes straight away:)

  • Ha Ha I know what you mean! :-)

  • Is it 311? or 313cdi?

  • 311 cdi 2.2 turbo diesel

  • If you want to save diesel ten here is a tip. I don't know if you know this. Don't fill up until you are at just above the red because fuel adds weight which lowers the MPG.

  • Thanks !

  • long ass deliveries!!

  • Yep the further the better !

  • I felt I was with you for a bit! Seemed like a nice drive home. My only concern was when you took your eyes off the road to make sure you were on camera! Poser!

  • Well a guy has to look good !

  • you mean english trolly? lol

  • Ha Ha......

  • If you dont mind me asking what exactly do you do?

  • Transport Business, Express Light Haulage, Same Day, Next day, etc.......
