Cats purr when there in labour, I think it's weird, but cute at the same time

@fooxfoo They purr when they are in intense pain to sooth themselves. I looked it up after my friends cat had her kittens.

I hope very much that all the kittens that are being produced are getting quality homes... in the US, 4-6 million kittens and cats are euthanized due to overpopulation, abandonment, etc.

i would never ever allow my babies to go to bad homes, if i could afford to keep them i would i cry when each one goes. i love cats to bits even got them tattooed on me!!! i would never ever give my babies to someone i didnt trust.

@nschenk why so many cats are euhanized?thats should be illegal,and anyway i live in london where pretty much any breathing being is neutered,how can they manage to have overpopulation if they neuter practically everything?its weird.in italy where i come from its illegal to euthanize healthy animals,and we dont neuter and spay so much like in uk.

Many cats purr when they're in pain or afraid, though it's their nature to not show any outward complaint of pain. In the wild a display of weakness is an invitation for attack.

Still, she's obviously calm and not feeling threatened, so her trust in you is solid :)

@Ookani Cats who are under physical stress (pain, giving birth, or even dying) will purr to calm/relax themselves
