  • Wondeful salsa piano solo! Thanks for sharing. :-) Anybody knows what is the rhythm played by congas? It does not sound like the regular tumbao played in salsa. I know some patterns for songo and mozambique but I cant tell which style this may be.

  • @88Wildone i think its guaguanco. its hard to tell because they are not real congas.

  • beautifully done

  • People always trying to charge someone

  • superb

  • falta swing

  • really nice i am a percussionist and i can tell you i can really do something good with this, pretty nice salsa

  • Great stuff. Trying to work this out for guitar.

  • que bueno

  • So what is the song called? I mean, the theme at 0:24 sounds really familiar.

  • @TagKeast

    maybe a little bit like

    conga from Gloria Estefan?

the rest of the song doesnt sound like it at all.

    But really awesome

  • It's a typical example of a Montuno

  • No this video is called....I'm stealing this arrangement LOL

  • You are getting bald! Ha Ha.

  • Awesome!

  • this video should be called masturbation in the key of your mom

  • Haha - good one!

  • This video should just be called, Hear Salsa.

  • Whew! How many years do you have to practice to get to that stage! Sounds tough! Beautiful though.

  • nice bald spot

  • this video isn't a version, is a piano solo

  • Man, that looks harder than Rachmaninoff!

  • Me gusta!!!!!!!! Very nice videos bro!

I was on tour with the lead trumpet player of Celia Cruz this summer:)

  • Thank you. I will not buy your videos because I will analyze this awesome stuff and suck your ideas out and use them by myself ;-)

  • Sweet I know heaps "How To PLAY"

I typed How to & this is what i got

    We are NOT AMMUSED

  • you should play some colombian salsa, it's really cool and not the typical puerto rican salsa americans hear.

  • Comment removed

  • santigt, you are nothing but one ignorant ass..learn musical history before you make comments like this one that makes you sound like the ass you are. don't forget p-rican salsa came from afro-cuban rythims. besides all puertoricans can do is mix reggae and hip hop to make rthat shit they call reggaethon. that doesn't sound original to me.

  • Pleople thay says puertoricans only can do reggaeton are ignorants, like you. One of the best salsa singer was Puertorican, some of the best salsa players are Puertorican. Of course, there are very good players of another countries. If you know anything about musical history will to forget that ALL LATIN MUSIC COMES FROM A MIX OF AFRICA-SPAIN AND ALL LATINOAMERICAN COUNTRIES, not only puerto rican salsa, ignorant.

If you think any country have a original sound you are wrong ignorant.

  • 1st of all you're showing your ignorance by not knowing propper english.2nd of all i know how good puertoricans can sing and play but does not give ignorants like you the right to say colombian salsa is a copy of puertorican and cuban salsa...a lot of puertorican salsa are colombian songs like sabroso by adalberto santiago, and even a lot of bachata lyrics come from colombian music. study your history again

  • The only thing can do colombians is the cocaine. Vallenato is the one colombian rythm, the others are copy.

To sing colombian lyrics isn´t to copy rythm, but colombians copies all. You know?

Nothing born in Colombia are good, Colombia only has thiefs, bitchs and and "cocaleros".

  • Ohhh I forgot one thing, you don´t speak english good too. I know don´t speak english very well but I don´t english.

  • Colombian music and dancing is the shyt man.

  • ahh how do you play 0:24-0:43, sounds great, can't really follow since you're going so fast, could you do a vid where you're going slow?

  • Jeff is the bomb he ain't no joke and a great teacher too..get down Jeff Que Viva La Musica..

  • I definitely hear some Papo Lucca in there.

  • I like what you played, but I didn't learn anything.

    Sounds good though.

  • Are We Supposed To Lose All Sense Of Rhythm As We Go On?

The Bass & Drums May As Well Not Be There.

    But I Like Your Runs...

    Need 2 BreakItDown!

  • YES! music can also be rhythmless. especially if the bass and drums are locked.

  • Lol That's True...

With The Other Instruments, Fair Enough.

    Hehe

  • hey jeff break down what your doing

    your playing not teaching

  • you got soul

  • hey your hairs thinning a little at the back mate..... by the way, quite good piano playing, but can you play chopsticks, hmmm?

  • This is a Good Salsa Patern.

  • good stuff

  • love it, thats what music lacks from the scene in australia these days

  • man 1:48 through 1:57 has the nicest melody out of it all, I learned that scale from your site, way to play.

  • Very Very nice and the sound of the chords is very powerfull!

Can You Breack dows the Chords tha You are Playinof this video

  • Many times I play (from bottom up) C Eb A D G C to create a C minor 6 9 chord.

For G7 I like to throw in alterations, such as this chord: G F B Eb G Bb

Thanks for watching and ¡que viva la musica!

    Jeff

  • damn that hit the spot. sweet!

  • wow ! thats amazing ! who is this guY?

  • Hi all, Letting you know I will be speaking a little bit about the course on Hear and Play's radio channel Tuesday, Sept 23rd, around 6pm Pacific Time. It is my sincerest hope that my lessons will unlock doors to your own discoveries in music. Although here I am simply enjoying myself (¡pa' gozar!) in the DVD course I go back to the basics of this music, so that you have the knowledge to apply to a variety of musical situations.

  • markolino esta juegado....ayyyy!!!!

  • This guy is shredding some nice latin licks with great feel. Yeah....!

  • man i love not jus salsa piano

    but the whole latin style

    any of that

    salsa marenge uh...idk others but

    i jus like it

  • I've been waiting 6 months for the video... when is it going to be available???

  • Dude. That is way cool! Keep up the good work.

  • great

  • Salsa, it got latin jazz all the way also. very very nice.

  • its good but what hapenned with part of lesson?

  • I love how the hands move just like someone who is dancing to the same music. That's the mark of a true professional if you can simulate the dance with your hands while playing the song. Some mistakes, but that's normal.

  • This is the REAL DEAL!

    UN SONIDO BESTIAL!

  • you rock my world.chaley

  • the vid really doesnt help, it merely shows someone playing salsa, doesnt explain any chord progressions, licks, runs

  • ummmm, sales pitch maybe??

  • has someone got the notes for this?

  • Is hard to see the the white Keys cause they look to bright or white or something. But good playing.
